This week I went to California for a mastermind I’m part of and had the opportunity to speak to a group of my peers and I wanted to share with you today what I shared with them.Transcript:

Betsy [00:00:05]:Welcome to the art of Living big podcast. My name is Betsy Paik. I’m an author, a speaker, and a trainer of NLP and hypnotherapy. And I’m focused on helping you understand and design your life with the power of the subconscious. This podcast is designed to help you think differently about what could be possible for your life. Now, let’s go live big.

Betsy [00:00:32]:Hello, hello. Hi. Welcome. Welcome to the show today. Welcome to the art of living big. I am Betsy Paik, and I’m excited to be with you here today. So if you’ve been here for a little while, you guys, I am showing up on video, and I have been doing it now. I’ve done it.

Betsy [00:00:49]:I’ve done it like three times now. It’s pretty impressive. So if you haven’t gone to my YouTube channel, go just Google the YouTube and you will see it. But I’m pretty excited about it because it is hard sometimes to be a beginner. You know, it’s hard to do something new. And even though I have been doing video for a long time, I haven’t been doing video when I do this show. And if you’re new here, when I do this show, typically I get an idea and then I just talk, which is how it’s always worked really well for me. But when you’re showing up on video, thinking about things while you’re talking is just, I don’t know, it’s a little bit different.

Betsy [00:01:28]:So lots and lots of new things and new challenges in my life. And I have said many times, like, if I have a problem I’ve never had before, I’m like, this is exciting because I’m going someplace new, new problems. And that’s kind of what’s happening. Being a beginner can be hard and just something new and can feel, like a little bit of a problem sometime. But I’m just really. I’m just really pleased with myself. I’m going to sing. So, so happy to be here with you guys today.

Betsy [00:01:58]:I wanted to talk about my past week I have been in California. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I was at an event this past week in California. I went to Huntington Beach. I live in Atlanta, Georgia. But I love California. And anytime that I have an opportunity to do any training, even if that training is up the street, I will try and attend the version that’s in California. I just really love it. I love the beach anyway.

Betsy [00:02:27]:And I love, like, the ocean vibes. And I think the vibe in California is just really cool. With. I mean, we’ve got some, now that I live inside the city in Atlanta, we do have some cool stuff. You know, I love a good smoothie bowl place, and I feel like those are in abundance in California. You know, it’s just like, different stuff that’s available, different parts of the country. And so, anyway, I was thrilled because I was going to get to go, and I went actually for two, well, it was two events. My coach that I have had off and on since 2018 has a mastermind.

Betsy [00:03:08]:So, for example, if you have been inside my program, the navigate method, I came into their initial program, and then they had a mastermind on the back end program. And what I mean by mastermind is it’s a group of entrepreneurs that come together for guidance and companionship, you know, to be able to really help each other and to come together in a smaller group to be able to help each other. And so this particular coach has two different levels, I’m going to say, of their mastermind.

    Transcript:

Betsy:Welcome to the Art of Living Big podcast. My name is Betsy Paik. I’m an author, a speaker and a trainer of NLP and hypnotherapy. And I’m focused on helping you understand and design your life with the power of the subconscious. This podcast is designed to help you think differently about what could be possible for your life. Now let’s go live big. Hi, everybody. Welcome to the show.

Betsy:Welcome to the art of Living Big. I’m really excited today because I have a really special guest. And I know, you know, every time we come to the show and I have a guest, I’m always excited. But this one for a few different reasons. And I really hope that as you’re listening today, it can help you or perhaps somebody that you know. So maybe it can be a show that you share that really helps someone. So today I’m really honored to have Doctor Rothstein with me. He is the co owner and medical director at the Atlanta Ketamine center.

Betsy:You may have heard me talk about the Ketamine center briefly a few episodes ago. Doctor Rothstein is a board certified emergency physician and the co owner of the Atlanta Ketamine center, and he’s worked in the Atlanta area for the past decade. He’s also got a wife, Joanna, who I really love, love, love and a couple of kids and three crazy rescue dogs, which, you know, I’m always a fan of someone that rescues dogs. So I have a rescue dog myself. So welcome to the show.

Dr. Rothstein:Thank you very much. And as I mentioned, what a cool podcast. And I really appreciate you having me on.

Betsy:Yeah, I’m really excited, you know, because I feel like the conversation that we’re going to have today can really, really help people. And I think it may be something people have never heard of, but it may be something that they’ve heard of before. But it was scary or unknown or, you know, felt like maybe a little, little fringy, if I can say that, like, because it’s new. Right. And so I would love if you could tell me a little bit about the Atlanta Ketamine center specifically. I chose it for some really specific reasons, but, and we can talk about that. Why I think it’s the very best in the whole area. So if, if you’re, I’ll say this disclaimer before we start.

Betsy:If you are interested in this, come, come to the Atlanta Academy and center. Come to Atlanta. It’s an area where there’s tons of hotels and places you could go and stay, and I will bring you out to lunch. So, okay. So tell me a little bit about the Atlanta Ketamine center and what ketamine is, what this is.

Dr. Rothstein:Thank you very much for the nice words. That really means a lot. Just a quick background of ketamine. We as a medical community have been using it for a long time in the medical setting. I’m an ER doctor. We use it in the ER almost daily or daily for sedation. If I need to put somebody’s hip back in place or put their shoulder ba...

Okay so …. sometimes people are mean on the internet. And as I’ve grown into this space of having a more visible instagram account, I’ve had to do some specific things in order to train my brain I’m safe.

This might be helpful for you if you’re doing something new or scary too….. or even it’s not random trolls showing up in your comments!

Hello, fellow adventurers. Hi, everybody. So welcome to the show today. Welcome to the art of living big. Today, I’m doing things a little bit different. So I am actually recording and videoing, recording, video recording. I’m recording all the ways that one can record, which I never do.

Betsy:If you’ve been here for any amount of time, you’ve heard me talk about this. I typically do the show, and I have done the show historically over the past seven years with my eyes closed. For the most part. It just helps me to shut off anything visual so that I can really be inside and with my thoughts. I shut my eyes when I visualize or when I do hypnosis or all the things. And so there is so many challenges to me doing the show this way. But we’re going to try it and just see how it goes. So if you’re watching the video, I’m trying to be intentional by keeping my eyes open.

Betsy:So I did write a couple of notes, which if you’ve been here for any amount of time, you know, I don’t do that either. But I didn’t want to forget some things. So I had been on hiatus from the show for a few months, just as I was getting my feet under me with just a lot of new things going on. And last week I was back, and it felt so good to be back. Really did. And that episode, I just said, let me know what’s been going on, because I feel like other times when I have the show, people are messaging me like, I liked your show, this is what’s happening. Or I noticed this thing, or I’ve been going through this. And so I kind of know what’s going on now.

Betsy:I know I might not know you, I know I might not know you, but I like the updates. Makes me feel like we really are all collected and a collective. Right. So anyway, last week, the show, I said, give me the updates. And I got updates. And it was just so nice to hear from people and to hear what you’ve been doing. I mean, you all have been busy making babies, losing weight, starting new businesses, changing jobs, like really exciting, fun things going on, big trips. And it has been really nice to get your messages.

Betsy:So thank you for that. This week, I do want to give you a small update. Episode 253 I had my daughter on, and I think I talked about this last week. I had my daughter on, and we were talking about her depression and anxiety and sort of mental health journey. And over the past month, she has been going to get ketamine infusions yeah, I’m for sure. I mentioned this last week. She’s completed those now, so she finished her first series of six. I am going to have the doctor come on the show next month.

Betsy:Next month. And we’re going to break down the whole ketamine infusion thing so that you really understand what it is and if it can help you in some way. Right. So if you have questions that you’re like, I heard you mention that, or I’ve heard people talk about ketamine infusions. If you have questions, will you just email us or message me on Instagram? But you can email us at the support@betsype.com and just tell me your question. And we would love to cover it. So I want the episode to be really informative. I mean, there’s so much that I don’t really know or understand.

Betsy:So I have a lot of questions that I think will organically come out and hopefully answer your questions too. But if you’ve got things, then absolutely please message me because I want to answer your questions too.

Welcome to the art of living. Big podcast. My name is Betsy Peik. I’m an author, a speaker, and a trainer of NLP and hypnotherapy. Betsy:Is this thing on? How do I use this?

    Betsy:Wait.

Betsy:Hello, fellow adventurers. Oh, my gosh. It’s been so long since I’ve been here. I hardly know what to do. And I got kind of nervous. Like when you first start dating somebody and then you’re going to go see them, and then you’re like, I’m kind of nervous, but I’m excited, too. That’s what it’s like. I haven’t been here in several months, which if you’ve been here for a long time, you know, that’s highly, highly unusual.

Betsy:I was consistent every single week with this podcast for seven years. And then last fall, I thought, I’m going to take a little break and do some searching. And I was sitting in meditation. I may have talked about that at the time, but I was really doing a lot of searching and decided to launch my program, the navigate method. Anyway, fast forward. It just took on a life of its own. And I kept thinking, I’m going to come back. I’m going to come back.

Betsy:And I think I tried around Christmas time and truly, truly the moments of silence that I have had. I would lay on the floor and stare at the ceiling, like, oh, my God, I just need a minute to breathe. So there have really been so few moments where I could even think about what I wanted to talk about or what I wanted to share. And I don’t want to waste your time. Anytime I do these podcasts, I want to make sure that it’s something that’s relevant and important to you and all the things. So if you’re new here, welcome. I’m excited that you’re here. If you found me through Instagram, I’m excited that you’re here.

Betsy:That algorithm was forever in my favor this fall, and I’m just really excited to be back. So here’s the thing. I’ve got a lot of stuff to share. And if you’ve been here for a long time, you know that there are times where I would do these coffee talk, like grab a cup of coffee, I’m going to just catch you up, sort of like we’re old friends, and I was trying to think about what do I talk about in this episode? Because it’s sort of like there’s so much to talk about. And then if I’m a good friend, I don’t want to be the only one talking. But since it’s just me, that’s kind.

Betsy:Of how it’s going to be.

Betsy:But I would love to hear from you and hear what has been up with you. I would love to hear what. If you have been a regular listener of this show and I wasn’t available, what did you listen to?

Betsy:I want to know kind of what.

Betsy:The go to has been. I want to know what books you’ve been reading. I want to know all the things. So with that said, let me just dive into all the things over here.

Betsy:And it’s been so long, I didn’t select the microphone. So I think this probably sounds better. Yeah. Okay. All right, so let’s dive in. If you are new here, the reason that I say fellow, hello, fellow adventurers is really because I feel like that’s what we’re all on, like a big adventure coming down to have this physical reality and that all the ups and downs are really...

Betsy [00:00:32]:Hello. Hi, fellow adventurers. So if you’re new here, I was thinking this during the last show. If you’re new here, I always say fellow adventurers, because I believe that we have chosen to come here on this big adventure, ups and downs and all of it. So welcome, fellow adventurers, to today’s show. I missed last week. I didn’t really miss. I am just handling a lot, and the thing that I am most focused on is keeping my energy intact. So I’m doing what I can while keeping my own energy totally full. And I highly recommend that because I am doing a lot of things and still feeling really good. So we are about to head into the holidays. I am taking a week off. It’s like a week in a day, right? Because New Year’s Day falls on Monday. So I will be back. I’m going to be out of the office Friday afternoon and then back on January 2. And I’m really looking forward to it. I am going to be fully present. I am going to be putting my phone away and focused where I am. And I’m just so excited. My daughter is moving. If you’ve been here for a little while, she lives near where I used to live, my old apartment, after I sold my house. And I moved into that apartment. And she lives not far from there because she works over there. Well, the place that she works has two locations, and the other location is right near my new house. Anyway, my new house is more in the city, right? It’s in Atlanta. And it’s so much more her speed. And I just kept telling her, you would love it here, you need to come. It’s maybe 10 miles, but it’s 30 minutes. Anyway, she’s moving. She’s moving right down the road. I mean, far enough away to have her own space, but close enough so it wouldn’t be a big deal to run over and get coffee or whatever. And I’m so, so excited about it. So it’s a season of really good, really good stuff. So today I wanted to talk a little bit about an idea that has been coming up. Like, as people have been messaging me, know, reaching out on Instagram or even inside the group. If you’re not inside the Facebook group, make sure to join the art of living. Big Facebook group. We’re really focused in there on relationships and how to shift. But the showing up for yourself is a theme in everything that I do, in all the work that I do. Okay, so I wanted to talk about this idea that, especially at the know, so many people were messaging me and they’re like, oh, my gosh, it’s the holiday. And I’m so excited, and there’s so much to do. There’s so much to do that I feel like I can’t even enjoy it. And then it’s gone, it’s done. And all I want to do is shut the door and not talk to anybody and just hide in the bathroom and be alone. And I think this is a really common thing. The magic of Christmas is really moms all over the place and some dads, too, right? But putting it all together, making it all work, doing the planning and the thinking, down to having enough magic tape and bows for the presents, to putting the Christmas tree together and making sure everybody’s stockings are filled. I mean, so much of that falls on our plates. And for a lot of us, we also still have work to do, right?
