    WE'RE ALL RIZZARDS OF OZ

    WE'RE ALL RIZZARDS OF OZ

To celebrate Lizz's first day with no nausea, this episode kicks off with some tasty inspiration for an at-home bar night with your air fryer and nachos for a crowd.

Today's millennial word of the day is 'Rizzler' with variations of Rizzley Bear, The Rizzard of Oz, Rizz God. This fun twist on the slang word 'rizz' indicates someone with a lot of romantic charisma—despite how Kelly would like it to be used.

Kelly is loving farm life, getting ready for animals, and making her list of car-inspired pig names. Lizz wants to start composting, even if she fails at first. The Carpool Facebook group showed up with their feedback on the Mrs. debate. The gals couldn't have more feelings about being called 'James's mom.' And to wrap up driveway dumps, Kelly killed it this weekend with her freezer Ziti—she's committed to the craft of freezer meals for life.

Pots and pans you don't have to put away? Yes, please. With Caraway's beautiful cookware you can just leave them out and enjoy the aesthetic. Caraway's products are made without any toxic materials like PFAS, PTFEs, POH, or other hard to pronounce chemicals. Over 65,000 people have given Caraway kitchenware five stars. Now it's time to try it for yourself.

→ Visit carawayhome.com/carpool or use the code CARPOOL at checkout to get 10% off your next purchase for a limited time.

On today's taste drive Kelly and Lizz try the lemon-lime Poppi. It's not their favorite, but if you're in the mood for watered down yellow gatorade with a dash of fizz, it may just be yours.

Toyota announces a record breaking year with sales of 11.1 million vehicles—the most ever sold by a car brand in one year. Also in industry news, some small SUVs now show worrying results in an updated crash test. The Equinox, Mazda CX five, Mitsubishi, Outlander and Volkswagen Taos all scored poor ratings in this updated test and only one passed. Another safety issue has prompted NITSA to open up a preliminary probe into Ford's hand free driving tech after two crashes.

Kelly shares her mother-in-law's poppy seed creamy chicken casserole for today's ditch the drive-through. Combine your chicken, chicken Rice-a-Roni, seasoning blend, sour cream, and cream of mushroom soup in a casserole pan. Top it with Ritz crackers and butter and bake until bubbly.

    YOUR BRILLIANT BASE MODEL LUXURIES

    YOUR BRILLIANT BASE MODEL LUXURIES

Ready to go electric, but not in an EV way? Then you won't want to miss the The Car Mom Auto Show. Kelly and Lizz kick off the episode raving about Nuna car seats and the car seat expert, Sam, who will be at the Auto Show helping you keep up with car seats.

Palpable is today's Merriam Webster word of the day. When you need a better word for something that's obvious, notable, and tangible — palpable is just the pick.

Make your kids' summer reading assignment a bonding experience. This genius idea is a shoutout from Chris. Read your kids' assigned book with them and make it a family book club.

The Carpool community has offered up their best base model luxury ideas. Lizz kicks off the list by watching Sex and the City with her husband. A handful of brilliant listeners offered their ideas, too: mini cutting boards, cup holder size Kleenex boxes, a space heater in the bathroom, hanging fresh Eucalyptus in the shower, and whipped cream in coffee.

Spring cleaning and organizing is right around the corner. So now is the time to get that Caraway cookware set you've had your eye on. This internet famous kitchenware is a staple for any home and comes in various modern shades to fit any design aesthetic. And not only is Caraway healthy and beautiful, their pans also come with the perfect storage system. Over 65,000 people have given Caraway kitchenware five stars. Now it's time to try it for yourself.

In industry news, Kia has not yet confirmed that the Tasman will be sold in the U.S., but it may have been spotted under heavy camouflage in California. The used car market is heating up and the average used EV price has plunged to just $1600 above gas-powered vehicles. Kelly and Lizz offer their speculations on why.

May-rinaides are taking over ditch the drive-through for the month of May! Try a new recipe every week with Kelly and Lizz. Just sign up for the Car Mom email list to get your recipe every week. Today's recipe comes from The Car Mom's mom, Chris. This Flank steak is so easy and perfect for company. Just marinate your flank steak in Italian dressing for 12-24 hours. Grill the steak for about three minutes per side. While you're grilling combine a bottle of A1 and half a can of beer in a pan. When your steak is done, cut the meat against the grain into strips and simmer the flank steak in the sauce for a few minutes. Serve with Car Mom broccoli and baked potatoes for a delicious and easy meal!

    LIVING THAT FARM LIFE

    LIVING THAT FARM LIFE

Between Pat the wallpaper girl, Franny the custom closet designer, and Lizz the bathroom makeover queen Kelly's house is shaping up wonderfully. The gals chat home improvements and little known entrepreneurial opportunities to kick off this jam packed episode of the Carpool podcast!

Purloin, today's Merriam Webster word of the day, means to steal something—but not in a serious way.

Are Kelly and Lizz turning their families into garage-fridge-families? Yes, and shamelessly. In fact, having beverage options at home is a base model luxury that shouldn't be overlooked.

Kelly asks Lizz how she feels about Teen Vogue's 15 most popular conspiracy theories in recent history including if Taylor Swift is working with the NFL, if Avril Lavigne is actually an impersonator, and if Aliens built the pyramids.

A handy, mess-free baby pouch holder, the Munchkin angle weighted straw trainer cup, and a hand towel hook for Kelly's bathroom were Lizz's last three transactions. Kelly has recently invested in a gallon-of-milk dispenser, got influenced into a fancy snackle box, and took a gamble on a couple of pair of maternity shorts from Old Navy.

Should a Carpool mom fix a $1K paint issue before trading in her 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe? Is it okay for cousins or close friends to have the same name? And should a 2023 Palisade driver, who has $5K equity in the car, go for a smaller car with a smaller payment? Kelly and Lizz have got their hot takes ready for this listener advice segment!

In industry news, the eleven passenger Kia Carnival will never come to the US market. Kia is releasing a midsize truck called the Tasman. CarMax plans to shorten windows for vehicle returns. And Kia joins the hybrid shift amid fluctuations in EV demand.

Grab your muffin tins and get ready for a parade of sauces on today's ditch the drive-through. Make mealtime fun for the whole family—go homemade or store bought with a plethora of dips for your fish sticks, chicken nuggets, and veggies galore.

    STARTING A NEW TREND: MICROCLEANING

    STARTING A NEW TREND: MICROCLEANING

Kelly's unsettled about a baby name, excited to get her kindergarten teacher vibe going, and Lizz agrees—second baby safety is another level of stress. Get ready for a little less sister sass on this dump-filled episode of the Carpool.

→ Join your Carpool friends at the Car Mom Auto Show this July 20th in St. Louis! Tickets are now available.

Lizz has a Gen Alpha (those born 2013 and after) update including the chokehold Taylor Swift has on the younger Gens, the Takis you want to be seen carrying, how Lululemon and Stanley are still cool, and social media of the future—YouTube shorts.

In driveway dumps, Kelly and Lizz breakdown how they feel about being called 'Mrs.' and ask YOU to SOUND OFF in the Facebook group: do you like first names or Mrs. and Mrs.? And how do you feel about Aunts and Uncles who aren't related to you? Kelly is living the two story house life and discovering the life changing magic of micro-cleaning. As you deep clean, notice what consumables you've got laying around so you can stop saving and start using up, too. Why *not* elevate a Tuesday with eye masks? Kelly and Lizz are both in the market for body lotion. Send in your recommendations for the one that will give them a daily spa experience and smell like wealth.

A listener writes about her Aunt she used to be very close with who now doesn't respect boundaries with her kids. Kelly's advice? Find your inner mama bear and be firm with your boundaries, your kids matter more than anything.

Lizz is ditching the drive-through with a corn and black bean salsa: canned corn, canned black beans, red onion, cilantro, jalapeno, lime juice, cumin and olive oil.

Danielle's dinner auction menu offers a bit of inspiration for the week, too, including: homemade focaccia bread, Katie's pizza dupe, Italian beef and potatoes, better than crumble Reese's peanut butter cookies, grilled chicken with pepperoncinis, garlic butter, Barb's famous carrot cake, Red Lobster cheddar biscuits, fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and broccoli, sweet and savory bacon wrap, puff pastry twists, salad with arugula, apple shallots, basil pecans and honey mustard dressing, pork tenderloin, and exquisite drink pairings.

    KELLY TAKES A LAP

Lizz is giving Kelly the BEST headspace-saving housewarming gift, Kelly's getting ready to celebrate Tyler's birthday with sushi, and the most delicious Albanese gummy bears are along for the Carpool ride today.

Cozy cardio kicks off the episode as today's Millennial word of the day. This tik tok trend was started by Hope Zuckerbrow, who deserves all of the credit. Light a candle, spray a little lavender, turn on a favorite movie, and walk on your treadmill to try it out.

Kelly is obsessed with a new listener-submitted low lift luxury: coffee ice cubes from your leftover brewed coffee and she's ready to pick the next no-pressure book for the Carpool book club. Kelly votes for The Magnificent Lies of Marjorie Post and Lizz will be doing her research.

Mini chi chi pie pies are today's ditch the drive-through. All you need is one bag of frozen veggie mix, one can of cream of chicken soup, one cup of shredded chicken, and two tubes of crescent rolls. Mix frozen veggies, chicken and cream of chicken soup in a bowl. Undo the crescent rolls and fold inside a muffin tin to make mini cups.
