Muscles, just like joints, move in three planes of motion. Muscles react to joint motions. The human body functions as an integrated system - not isolated parts. The effects of muscles are considered beyond the anatomical joint or joints that a particular muscle may cross. Expanding our thinking beyond what is taught traditionally (one plane, isolated, table-based) into what functionally is true opens up endless possibilities for Assessment, Treatment, Training, and Prevention.
