Overcoming Insecurities About Clothes to Find Your Style as a Mom

Overcoming Insecurities About Clothes to Find Your Style as a Mom

It's no secret that unless you're like, Chrissy Teigan, your personal style does a dramatic 360 after having kids. Not only do our bodies change, but more importantly our priorities change...whether it's our time, money, energy, or just the realization that all those flowy tops that need dry cleaning can basically never be worn again around kids. But should we really just let our style go? Is it selfish? Is it realistic? Can a mom treat herself to some clothes she feels great in (and can afford) without feeling guilty or vain? It's complicated to say the least.
We hash through clothes, our closet, and what "personal style" really means with Personal Wardrobe Stylist and founder of Stylish Sparrow (and mom), Lisa Sharpe who magically gets to the core of both our insecurities and clarifies a lot about why maybe we don't need to live in yoga pants for the rest of our days.
This is *not* an episode about how we all need to shop at high-end New York City boutiques with a paid stylist, but more of an emotional (and a little woo) dive into the how and why of women - especially moms - wearing clothes.
    Enjoy!

Shayna and Tracey have been friends since the 8th grade – that’s over 25 years. After college, they each moved to separate coasts for a decade. They were reunited when they decided to leave big city life and settle down with their families in Denver, Colorado and Facebook told them their daughters are 3 weeks apart. After several play dates, some more childbirth, some unsuccessful pumping, and the overwhelming nature of mommy community boards, The Pump and Dump Show was born.
The show launched in 2012 in a bar in Northwest Denver and quickly grew to a bi-monthly, local staple for new moms to have a night out. In 2014, Shayna and Tracey took The Pump and Dump Show on its first national tour, and in September of 2019 The Pump and Dump Show expanded with more casts of real moms who continue to perform every month to audiences nationwide.

Hindsight in 2020 with Tracey and Shayna

Hindsight in 2020 with Tracey and Shayna

Hello, Band of Mothers!! Welcome to our newly renamed podcast (formally The Pump and Dump Podcast) and welcome to 2020!!
For our first episode of the new decade, we take an hour to reflect on the past year and past decade and what it's meant to us as moms, as businesswomen, as friends and as just plain old women who seem to be getting older every year, dammit.
We talk about highs, lows, what we've learned, what we regret, books we read, and how we've changed. We also chat about new favorite things we're loving right now, and all the fun stuff happening with The Pump and Dump Show. Tracey cries of course. And somehow Sumo Oranges are involved.
Join us for a heartfelt and reflective look on a tumultuous year, as we kick off a decade of new adventures.

Manifestation and Why Vision Boards Don't Work

Manifestation and Why Vision Boards Don't Work

Manifesting is having a bit of a moment right now, and frankly, we're here for it...even if we're not totally sure what it means. :) Luckily, we know just the mom who can guide us through it, so we asked Sarah Zeren, Certified Professional Coach, Licensed Social Worker, Certified Addictions Counselor, Energy Leadership Master Practitioner (and also our very first podcast guest on our first episode, Please Stop Saying #SelfCare) to please explain manifestation and what it means and why we should do it.
If you're thinking this episode is a little woo woo, you're not totally wrong. But, BUT! You'll be amazed at what you'll learn about psychology, neuroplasticity, the brain and energetics, and how we can harness these things to get our lives on the paths we dream of.
Sarah is the kindest, chillest, loveliest most positive and down to earth life coach you could ever hope to find, and her frank, no-nonsense answers to all our questions just might have you holding out your hands to the universe ready to take on the world.
    Enjoy!

Please Explain Birth Centers and Midwifery

Please Explain Birth Centers and Midwifery

We've all heard of midwives, home births, water births and birthing centers, but how much do we really know about these options for moms? For us, apparently we know very little, which is why our conversation with Courtney Hasson, Certified Nurse Midwife at The Birth Center of Boulder was so eye-opening. For example, did you know midwives can perform all aspects of female reproductive health from puberty through menopause?
Courtney's calm, open-minded, caring passion for women offered us a ton new insight and knowledge about how and why someone might want to take the birth center route for their birth plan. Even if you're done having kids, this conversation is eye-opening. And, if you're still wondering what plan is right for you, have a listen and learn some amazing facts about midwives!
