We’re Amanda & Ryan and we’re the hosts of The World Wanderers podcast. We’re a traveling couple originally from Alberta, Canada with a love of exploring the world, eating great food (mostly Mexican food, if we’re being honest), learning new languages, and meeting new people. The World Wanderers podcast is a travel diary of our adventures since we started traveling together in 2011.

We take you with us as we travel through Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia & New Zealand as 22-year old budget backpackers looking for the best party hostel. We take you with us to South America where we go through some our deepest personal transformations. We take you with us as we move to a small town in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and take a massive career pivot. We take you with us to the southern US where we lived for a year. We take you through Asia as we navigate the world of “digital nomad life”. We take you on all our adventures in Mexico, which is the country we both feel most at home in the world.

And the adventures don’t stop there. With each new place we visit, food we try, and culture that we fall in love with (or maybe don’t fall in love with), we share that with you. The evolution of how we travel has changed dramatically since the beginning, but what hasn’t changed is our love for exploring the world.

Join us every other Thursday for new episodes of The World Wanderers!

One Crazy Year! 2020 Recap with Annette & Daniel Fortner from Chase For Adventure

One Crazy Year! 2020 Recap with Annette & Daniel Fortner from Chase For Adventure

In this episode of The World Wanderers we are excited to catch up with friends of the podcast, Annette and Daniel Fortner from Chaseforadventure.com!

Annette and Daniel are full-time travelers and digital entrepreneurs teaching aspiring digital nomads how they can create a full-time traveling life!

The Fortners have had some crazy experiences since our last chat in the fall of 2019. From dodging elephants in Sri Lanka, to riding out Covid 19 living with 10 dogs in the jungles of Ko Chang, 2020 was an eventful year to say the least.

Annette and Daniel are fantastic storytellers, both through their blog and through their Youtube channel, and so this conversation was a fun ride full of action and insight.

Financials, Travel Planning, and Living in Taiwan with Mr. Nomad Numbers

This time on The World Wanderers we are joined by Mr. Nomad Numbers, one of the Nomad Numbers team. In 2018, Mr. and Mrs. Nomad Numbers quit their jobs, sold their stuff, and started traveling the world full time!

From the start, they’ve documented their journey and kept detailed track of their budget, spending, and income. Their site is a truly great resource for any nomad, so we were excited to chat with Mr. Nomad Numbers about his journey, how he budgets and plans travel, why travel can be a lot more affordable than you think, life in Taiwan, and a lot more!

    Exploring Boquete, Panamá!

    Exploring Boquete, Panamá!

This week on the show we are taking you back in time and on an adventure we took to Boquete, Panama at the very start of 2020!

We'll talk about why Boquete is a great spot to visit (maybe even an underrated destination), take you on a tour of some of the best things to do, and share what made it stand out to us.

This episode is brought to you in part by Casco Antiguo Language School. Casco Antiguo Language School offers Spanish language immersion programs in Latin America's coolest neighborhood, Panama City, Panama's Old Quarter, Casco Antiguo. Their 1 on 1 or Small Group classes allow you to get out of the classroom and learn Spanish in real-life settings. They also offer free social activities every such as sunset bike tour, salsa dancing, happy hour, and beach volleyball. The school is located in the heart of this incredible colonial neighborhood that's also an UNESCO world heritage site. The school has a great social atmosphere and the teachers are incredible.

We have seen such an improvement in our Spanish since we started studying there, and the beauty is they also offer classes online via Skype / Zoom so we are actually back in Canada now but can continue classes online with the same teacher. During this crazy time, it has given our lives some sort of routine, which we are loving. If you are interested in learning Spanish, you can head on over to www.cascospanish.com to start your language learning journey.

    2020 Year in Review!

    2020 Year in Review!

What a crazy year it has been! Like we do every year, we're looking back at the past 12 months. We started the year in Panama and will end it in Mexico, but a lot happened and changed in between.

A pandemic definitely throws a wrench into life plans as a digital nomad, so we also talk about what our plans were that we changed throughout the year.

One of the big changes from this year is that we launcher The World Wanderers Insider, our exclusive podcast on Patreon. To get access to TWW Insider you can go to patreon.com/theworldwanderers
