The sisters do a fairly chill check-in on the 7th episode of Timbs 'n Teddies.  But does this millennial-xennial sister squad really have any chill?  Well, maybe not when it comes to American politics and the intersection of Black Luv.  Let's face it - the US hasn't been able to keep it's paws off of the black family structure; at the head of this structure is the divine idealism of two becoming one.  Alas!  There seems to be a third party.  Is three a crowd?   The traditional love & respect between masculine and feminine energy in the black community just can't seem to get far enough away from American politics to feel safe (or free).  It forcefully and annoyingly joins us during Netflix and Chill and while jumping the broom.  Will we ever be able to shake it off?  Or will we always end up at seemingly the most dangerous intersection in American HERstory - the intersection of Politic Ave & Black Luv Blvd???

Let's talk about S-E-X...baby! Better yet, let's talk about INTIMACY! As his life's work, episode 5's male guest (author and theologian Mr. Osceola Thomas) highlights the root of this word - as coming from the Latin word intimare, meaning to "make familiar" or intimus meaning "inmost". The sisters have ears wide open this episode, and at some points, mouths wide open in plausible shock as we listen to Mr. Thomas' studies (leading to his most recent publication, The Naked Truth) regarding spirituality's tie to our identification as sexual beings. Now that we know the root of the vernacular, can we wrap our brains around the core of the actual deed? Are we as ready and receptive of/to our partners in their most vulnerable state as we claim to be? Have we reached a comfortable, accepting state when approached with our naked mirrored image before asking our partners to be accepting of such? What role does monogamy actually play in our sexual ideals? Is polygamy an accurate (and digestible) ideal, framework and viewpoint to describe intimate communion with God/Source/Spirit? And how is this time of quarantine-bae perhaps driving us (kicking and screaming) towards true intimacy? Yes, we cover all of this on episode 5 of Timbs 'n Teddies! The sister squad is joined by a single father of three on the 4th episode of Timbs ‘n Teddies. Of course it’s a very lively conversation filled with truth, vulnerability and optimism. What’s at the root of toxic femininity on the black dating & relationship landscape? The trio discusses social norms and constructs that build upon toxicity and bleed heavily into our romantic lives. The Gail King / Snoop Dogg debacle permeates throughout the entire episode as a supreme example of how we maneuver through toxicity (both male and female) this day and age. Toxic femininity is a portion of our experience that wants to be heard; and she’s loud, boisterous, flammable and a force of which the reckoning won’t be an easy task. Perhaps her revolution isn’t to be televised. However, we welcome her at the table...she bakes a mean Mac ‘n Cheese! 😉

As a continuation of Ep 2, big sis, lil sis and Mr. Jeremy Burris reconvene to discuss the specifics of spiritual romantic archetypes. There are respectful disagreements, controversial vocabulary / titles, and a few on-air realizations in this episode. Still, we show up vulnerable and willing to learn how to swim in the deep-end of open conversation. Isn’t that what it’s all about?  The topic of toxic femininity kept crashing the party on this episode, so we've decided to lend her a traditional invite and make proper space for her at the table in Episode 4!  ...This should be interesting.

We go deep into the importance of spirituality as it pertains to whom you attract into your space, and how much these mini-relationships (as I like to call them) make a huge impact on your soul and journey. Where are we going romantically as a collective? How does one generation view the other? Where can you go to gain spiritual enlightenment? Are you comfortable within your own spiritual ascension? Does one gain more from the light or the dark? Do you share your birth chart with romantic prospects? Episode 3 will be a continuation, as the trio speaks on spiritual archetypes: karmics, soul-mates, twin-flames...oh my!
