The Veil (S01E01-03)
If you're waiting on the next season of The Handmaid's Tale or the movie spin-off of Peaky Blinders, this will have to do as Steven Knight and Elisabeth Moss team up in this espionage thriller about an MI6 agent who gets close to an alleged ISIS commander in the hopes of preventing an attack in the US. Now, in the first three episodes that have been released, the show has its ups and downs, which we cover and rate in this episode. But if you come away with one thing, it’s that if you choose to write your own screenplay or script, try your best not to make your protagonist side with the probable terrorist. Food for thought. Welcome to Today's Episode.

The Spiderwick Chronicles (PILOT)
'Welcome to Spiderwick,' is the pilot of The Roku Channel's new original series, The Spiderwick Chronicles. This reboot, distinct from the 2008 movie, presents an aged-up, more intricate portrayal of the Grace family as they encounter the magical and monstrous underbelly of Henson, Michigan. With its blend of darker tones, magic and haunted house lore, we compare the series to other family-centric supernatural shows like Locke and Key. Despite another ambitious attempt to revitalize a children's fantasy franchise, there are a lot of streaming networks trying to do the exact same thing. Join us as we unpack the highs and lows of this new adaptation, offering a critical lens on whether it truly merits its place in today’s streaming landscape. Enjoy!
