John Tyler - A Musician for a Movement
John Tyler, a.k.a. Johnny Llama is a 20-year-old guitarist, producer, songwriter and film scorer from Baltimore. In our interview, we start off talking about John’s journey from playing guitar hero at 9 years old all the way to having his own band, creating the Love Groove Music Festival, and releasing several albums, including his latest, “THE GOOD SIDE OF THINGS.” In the second half of the interview we discuss the recent Black Lives Matter protests and John’s experience performing for protesters. We discuss some of the reforms that we hope will come from the protests and whether artists should be obligated to play a role in furthering the BLM movement.
*Due to some technical difficulties with his microphone, Okechi was not able to speak during the episode, although he was able to participate by typing out his questions.
