Welcome to The Cafe con Therapy Podcast.

This is a podcast in which we will explore topics related to mental health and therapy. Each episode we will have people talk about their own experiences with dealing with their mental and emotional health and/or with seeking therapy. We will also explore the experiences of mental health workers and their thoughts and experiences in the mental health field.

As a Mental Health Counselor myself I believe in the benefits of being able to share one’s experiences as a moment of Catharsis. I also believe in one’s ability to learn from the struggles, experiences, and triumphs of others.

This is in no way meant to replace actual therapy. If you are in need of mental health services please reach out to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. The NAMI HelpLine can be reached Monday through Friday, 10 am–8 pm, ET. at 1-800-950-NAMI (6264) or info@nami.org

Although the main focus will be mental health, the goal is to also cover other topics related to the impacts of societal norms and the stigma around breaking them. Most episodes will be in English but there will also the occasional “Spanglish episode”.

We hope that you find the information and stories that are shared on this podcast helpful and/or relatable. The goal is to create a sense of community in which your struggles are validated and in which you can also learn about the difficulties that others might be experiencing to become a better advocate and supporter of mental health and therapy.
