When I joined Business School, the biggest fear I had was finding an internship. There's the foreign language part, there's a networking element and when all is said and done, there's the Visa paperwork. Well, nobody said it's gonna be easy! When I got back to school after my internship year, I was flabbergasted by how creative my friends have been over their internship year. How they edged towards their dream internship was a combination of timing and talking to people in a way that they remember you. Skill is definitely key, but you need to know how to package it. Draw from their creativity!

Fashion marketing in Paris. Anuvind Kanwal

Fashion marketing in Paris. Anuvind Kanwal

There's such a dogma around bagging a job in Paris. So much more in the Fashion industry. "You need to speak the language", "you need to have the right passport" and so on. While these things do make applications easier, you can use your situation in your advantage. Today we're talking to Anuvind, an Indian who came to France to study marketting and work in one of the most competitive fields, the Fashion and Cosmetic industry. He is still perfecting his French and he remained ahead of the curve, proactively applying for the most attractive Visa that helped him bag a permanant position at Estée Lauder. He used his background to apply in a company that looks for diversity and presented himself to seem attractive. Have a listen to how he did it. Hope you enjoy this episode!
