    • Business

Episode 268 features Maria Colon of Dinero en Spanglish. We talk about how to go from over-spender to financially free! Listen now!
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Maria Colon moved to the U.S. in 2006, facing language barriers, homesickness, and financial challenges. Growing up, her parents had their businesses, but they didn't plan for tough times, leaving them in a difficult money situation. Despite this, Maria pursued a college education through scholarships and part-time work, graduating debt-free.
She continued her education, eventually becoming a Certified Public Accountant, leading to better job opportunities. Maria moved to Miami for a higher-paying job but faced financial challenges, including lots of credit card debt.
In 2019, as a family of 4, Maria decided to change the family's financial future through financial planning. They are now consumer debt-free, investors, and aim to retire by age 50.
