Silver Sparrow, Consensual Non monogamy & the virginity myth.

Silver Sparrow, Consensual Non monogamy & the virginity myth.

In this episode of “she reads”, Alma Limón talks about her latest read ”Silver Sparrow” by Tayari Jones. A novel set in Atlanta in the 80s which revolves around bigamist James Witherspoon's two families: the public one and the secret one. This story inspired Alma to learn about “Consensual Non-Monogamy” which refers to a romantic relationship in which all partners agree to engage in sexual and romantic relationships with others. Alma discusses the idea that one of the reasons why we can't wrap ourselves around the idea of open relationships is simply because we were not “raised” to do so.Listen to the episode on Apple podcasts or Spotify! Moving to Toronto and becoming an actress with Pamela Estrada (VOICENOTESWITHMYFRIENDS)

Welcome to another episode of "VoiceNoteswithmyfriends" the segment on the show where I don't talk about books but about my very loved friends.I met Pamela when I was fifteen on a "Quinceañera" trip to Europe. She moved to Toronto shortly after, we talk all about her experience of moving to a different country being so young and how this decision shaped her life now. Pamela surprised me and a lot of people when she decided to study Acting for media, currently, she is the Co-founder of "Young Minds Films" in which she acts, writes, and produces important stories which represent real people.I admire Pamela so much ever since I met her for being so brave, passionate, and a ray of sunshine to whoever has the pleasure to talk to her. I hope you enjoy our conversation. Follow the show on instagram HEREFollow Pamela on Instagram HEREFollow Young Minds on Instagram HERE
