Another great friend of mine, Andy Akroyd recently posted a video about his amazing experience traveling to China and hanging out with Steven and he recommended I get him back on the show! So here he is!

Steven chats to us about the Canton Fair, meeting suppliers, negotiating the best price without compromising on quality and the dangers of using DDP as your freight forwarding method amongst many other tips and tricks if you’re currently, or considering sourcing from China !.

Today I interview Ben Webber, an Amazon legend, who started selling retail arbitrage on Amazon back in 2014. He was driving his truck all over the country, searching for liquidations and bargains so he could list those products on Amazon and make a tidy profit. With his buddies, they were able to scale to $3 Million per year!

They quickly realised that the retail arbitrage model wasn’t a sustainably scalable business, so they pivoted to Private label in 2016 and things took off after they were interviewed on a popular radio show in the USA. An interesting way to launch a product on Amazon, that’s for sure!

They now have 9 Brands, with hundreds of SKU’s selling both on Amazon and Walmart, last year selling over $50 million.

Amongst lots of gold nuggets, Ben chats about his latest product research tactic, buying product patents from Patent owners to create defensible product lines.

So come join Ben at the Amazon Collective!

His expertise in video has given him a huge edge selling on Amazon for both his own eCommerce brands, but also now for the clients he works with.

This is a must listen episode if you’re thinking of expanding to Japan.

This week I chat with Chris, who is a professional Australian photographer based up in Queensland. Chris & his wife Sonia’s extensive knowledge of photography helped them to develop their product line in the baby Category on Amazon USA.

In just a couple of years, they’ve gone from $60K in their first year, $320K in 2023 and they’re looking at $800K this year in 2024 with just one product and a handful of variations.

Their margins are sensational and they enjoy healthy profits in spite of all the new fees Amazon’s imposed on us sellers.

We talk about the methods they’ve employed to keep their fees as low as possible. We discuss variation strategies, and their plans for Marketplace expansion and growth for this year.

Meghla, Marg & Kev are holding the India Sourcing trip this time in February Dates: Feb 4-11, 2024 in Delhi and use the code: chris to get $150 off the normal ticket price. Just head over to www.indiasourcingtrip.com to learn more.

This week I chat with the amazing Fiona Soutter, who you might know from her on-stage appearances at the Southern Seller Fest. I actually recorded this chat with Fe a couple of weeks ago, so some of the dates and references to ‘next year’ refer to this year… Anyway, Fiona’s an Australian Amazon seller who started only selling in 2020 and is already making over $100K per month in profit. Today she breaks down her journey, from changing her mindset, to the highs and the lows of dealing with everything Amazon and world has thrown at her along the way.
