Keeping a Fox in the City Wild

Foxes are wild animals. They live in forests and grasslands. But sometimes, they live in cities!
狐狸是野生動物，牠們住在森林跟草原。但有時候牠們也住在城市。

In one city in the U.S., someone found a baby fox on a street! A wildlife center is taking care of her now.
美國一個城市，有人在街上找到一隻狐狸寶寶。目前野生動物中心在照顧牠。

The wildlife center's workers don't want the baby fox to get used to people. Foxes that are used to people can't live with wild foxes.
野生動物中心的工作人員不想要狐狸寶寶熟悉人類，這樣牠才能跟其他野生狐狸生活。

But foxes aren't good pets. They need lots of space… and fresh raw meat! It's better for baby foxes to stay wild.
狐狸不適合當寵物，因為牠們需要很多空間跟新鮮的生肉，最好還是讓狐狸寶寶待在野外。

But the workers are around this baby fox all the time. So… they wear fox masks! The workers want her to think they are foxes too!
但是工作人員整天跟這隻狐狸寶寶在一起，於是他們戴上狐狸面具，讓牠覺得他們也是狐狸。

A stuffed fox toy is her mother. When the workers feed her, she lies on the toy. It makes her feel safe.
牠的媽媽是狐狸外形的填充玩具。工作人員在餵牠時，都把牠放在媽媽身上，讓牠安心。

Soon she'll live with three other wild baby foxes. She'll learn how to find food. She'll learn how to stay away from danger. She'll learn how to be with other wild animals.
過不久牠就會和另外三隻野生狐狸寶寶住在一起。牠會學習如何覓食、如何遠離危險、如何跟其他野生動物一起生活。

One day, she'll live in a forest or grassland. That's where she belongs!

This Library Wants Cat Pictures

Have you borrowed books from a library? Libraries have great books!

It's important to return books on time. It's also important to take good care of them. If you lose a book, some libraries take your library card! Oh no!
準時歸還書籍很重要，也要保管好。如果弄丟了，有的圖書館會沒收你的借書證。

During the pandemic, many people lost books. Their libraries took their cards. But in one American city, the library wants these people to enjoy the library again.
疫情期間很多人把書弄丟了，借書證也被沒收。但美國一個城市的圖書館希望這些人可以回來借書。

Do people have to pay for their lost books? No! They can bring a picture of a cat. A cat? Yep! Then they get their library card back!
他們需要賠錢嗎?不用!他們只要拿一張貓咪的照片就可以拿回借書證。

Many people brought cute cat pictures. But one boy didn't have a cat. So he drew a cat! He got his library card back!

This library is kind. Some people don't have money for lost books. But they want to go to the library. So the cat pictures are making everyone happy!

Art for the Paris Olympics

Run! Jump! Throw! Do these things every day! Do them for four to eight years! That's how long athletes take to get ready for the Olympics. That's a lot of hard work!

France asked a famous artist and graphic novelist to make an artwork about the Paris Olympics. It took three years to make the artwork! That's almost as many years as some athletes take to get ready for the Olympics! It was a lot of hard work!
法國邀請知名的藝術家跟漫畫家製作和巴黎奧運相關的藝術作品。他們花了三年的時間才完成，將近是運動員準備奧運的時間。

Family Finds Dinosaur Footprints

Dinosaurs have big footprints! We see these footprints in natural history museums. But have you seen one on a beach?
恐龍的腳印很大，我們可以在自然歷史博物館看到，但你有在海灘上看過嗎?

A family was walking on a beach in England. The mother and her two kids were having fun. Then they saw eight big dinosaur footprints!
有個家庭在英國的海灘散步，玩得正開心的時候，看到八個恐龍的大腳印。

They were very excited. They were walking where dinosaurs walked!
他們非常興奮，因為他們就走在恐龍走過的地方。

If we walk on a beach today, our footprints are very soft. These footprints are not soft. Dinosaurs made these footprints millions of years ago. The footprints became very hard. Now they're as hard as rocks.

The Solar Eclipse and Citizen Scientists

Have you heard of solar eclipses? The moon goes between the sun and the Earth. The moon blocks the sun for a short time.
你聽過日蝕嗎? 當月球運行到太陽跟地球中間，太陽會被月球的陰影遮住一段時間。
During a total solar eclipse, the moon blocks all of the sun. But we can see the sun’s corona. It's the fuzzy white circle around the dark moon.
日全蝕是月亮完全遮蔽太陽。但我們還是可以看到日冕，是暗黑的月球周圍一圈白白、模糊的光。
The sun’s wind, the solar wind, comes out of the corona. The solar wind is very strong. It affects the Earth!

There was a total solar eclipse on April 8th. People saw the eclipse in a line from Mexico to Canada. It was four minutes in each place on the line.
