Washington is doing very well with in-state recruits

Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies coaching staff need to make sure that it's doing a good job in the state of Washington, and with three of the state's top 5 prospects, four-star linebackers Zaydrius Rainey-Sale and Jonathan Epperson, and three-star defensive back D'Aryhian Clemons, set to take an official visit to Seattle over the weekend. However, one position the Huskies aren't doing very well with is the defensive line, with one of Jason Kaufusi's top targets, Josiah Hammond, committing to the Kansas Jayhawks, while former official visitors Josiah Sharma and Chace Sims appear to be looking elsewhere.

Washington QB commit Dash Beierly is a perfect fit for the Huskies

Whether he knew it or not, while sitting in his neighbor's garage watching his favorite NFL team, the Seattle Seahawks, and his favorite player, Russell Wilson, three-star Washington Huskies commit Dash Beierly was always destined to end up in Seattle one day. The Mater Dei quarterback followed Jedd Fisch from the Arizona Wildcats to the Big Ten with the Washington Huskies and became the first player to commit to Fisch's coaching staff after he took over for Kalen DeBoer in January, kicking off Washington's 2025 class with an exciting dual-threat quarterback who has helped recruit players like four-star wide receivers Andrew Marsh and Chris Lawson after taking his official visit to Montlake on May 31 and should learn a lot around freshman quarterback Demond Williams.

Four-star OL Champ Taulealea chooses the Washington Huskies

Jedd Fisch, offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll, and the Washington Huskies earned a huge win on the recruiting trail on Thursday morning when four-star offensive lineman Champ Taulealea announced his commitment to Washington over USC, Georgia, Texas, Penn State, Oregon, and more. Ranked as the No. 12 interior offensive lineman in the country by 247Sports, Taulealea is the biggest win for Washington's coaching staff so far in the 2025 class as it prepares for life in the Big Ten and could use that momentum to help reel in more of the blue chip prospects the coaching staff has its sights set on, including Christian Thatcher, Matai Tagoa'i, Chris Lawson, Phillip Bell, Kaleb Edwards, Vander Ploog, Douglas Utu, John Mills, and Dijon Lee.

Hyde, a product of Menlo-Atherton High School is a talented pass rusher who took his official visit to Seattle on May 31 alongside other talented prospects like four-star edge rusher Smith Orogbo, three-star quarterback commit Dash Beierly and more, and has also spent some time at offensive tackle, plays international rugby for Team USA and has deep ties to the University of Washington thanks to his mother, who graduated from the school.

Numbers That Will Define Washington's 2024 Season

Numbers That Will Define Washington's 2024 Season

The Washington Huskies have a lot of talent and production to replace under coach Jedd Fisch after Michael Penix Jr., Rome Odunze, Bralen Trice and others left for the NFL Draft or the transfer portal, but Fisch's coaching staff has done a good job adding talent through the ranks of high school recruiting and the transfer portal. When combining returning talents like Denzel Boston, Cameron Davis, Zach Durfee, Grady Gross, Carson Bruener, and Elijah Jackson with transfer portal products like Jonah Coleman, Ephesians Prysock, Will Rogers, Jeremiah Hunter, and Sebastian Valdez, the Huskies have a lot of promising players ready to break out as the Huskies move into the Big Ten.

Grading Washington's Incoming Transfer Portal and Recruiting Classes

Coach Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies have had a lot of work to do to rebuild the roster following its decimation from the transfer portal due to Kalen DeBoer's departure for Alabama, NFL Draft, and national championship loss to Michigan. The Huskies turned to the 2024 class to bring in players like Demond Williams, Jordan Washington, Adam Mohammed, Justin Hylkema, and Rahshawn Clark from the high school ranks while Cameron Broussard, Jayden Wayne, D'Angalo Titialii, DeShawn Lynch, Enokk Vimahi, Keleki Latu, and more found their way to Montlake through the transfer portal.
