    S1E06: Dance With Me

    S1E06: Dance With Me

In this tragically mis-titled episode, Dance With Me, we learn a painful, unavoidable truth. The Lisa Berlinis will always wind up with Brad Gaineses, and the Winnies will always aspire to the Kirk McRays.
Of course, it should have been called "I Dream of Winnie," and it includes a discussion of the harsh reality of being a adolescent longing for love: the fact is, you don't really understand what love is until you're well past the years when you first feel its pull.
So concludes our first season of Wonder With Us. It's been loads of fun and we're looking forward to starting up with Season 2 in the fall. Join us!

Wonder With Us S1E05: The Phone Call

Wonder With Us S1E05: The Phone Call

In this episode, "The Phone Call," we do indeed discuss calling people on the phone, and how one of us has never liked to do it and thanked all lucky stars when texting became en vogue. Also, ruminations on Pittsburgh (not) being the center of the universe, and a summary excoriation of arts camp (from one of us.) Also, who was Budd Dwyer? If you know, you know. If you don't, it's because YINZ AIN'T FROM DA 'BURGH. And looking it up might be a mistake.

    Wonder With Us S1E04: Angel

    Wonder With Us S1E04: Angel

A discussion about The Wonder Years Season 1 Episode 4, entitled "Angel," which includes ruminations on feminism and a debate about the Cold War and putative American imperialism. Plus, Jozy applies a now oft-used moniker to describe the hated villain in this episode, Louis, the vegetarian, free-loving college student whom Kevin dreams of punching out.
An actual quote from this episode: "They just threw the chicken, and who knows where it was supposed to land." Also - a burgeoning Wayne Theory.

Wonder With Us S1E03: My Father's Office

The phenomenon of the unknowable father is a prevalent theme, especially from the generation we grew up in, and several before it. What’s behind that stony face? Wonder With Us S1E02: Swingers

    Wonder With Us S1E02: Swingers

It's Episode 2 of Wonder With Us, in which we discuss Season 1, Episode 2 of The Wonder Years. What happens when adolescent boys read Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid to Ask)? The show makes a valiant attempt to answer that question.

How do you address the segment of a TV show in which that book figures prominently with an 8- and 5-year-old? You don't.
