    Program: we chat about piano selections from Ramer's career so far, from his earliest compositions to a recent piece titled Sonata #6. Ramer and his former partner Christopher L. Richards have presented two art/performance shows developed by giving visual artists a piece to listen and respond to, creating artworks based on that music. The most recent project, Sonata #6, was on view through Dec 17, 2021 at Survival Kit Gallery in 78th Street Studios, 1305 W. 80th St., Cleveland, OH 44102.

    Bio: Calvin Stokes is the winner of the 1995 Lyon & Healy Harpfest® International Jazz/Pop Harp Competition. This Cleveland, Ohio native first studied harp on a dare. He later went on to earn Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of world-renowned harpist, Alice Chalifoux. He has performed with major orchestras across the United States. It was while touring Europe that this Tanglewood alum played in his first jazz "jam session."
    His debut solo recording, "Free," is an intriguing blend of R&B and Latin Jazz, released on the ChiliDog® record label. Using his Electric Harp as the foundation, Calvin surrounded himself with talented musicians to create a unique sound all his own that fits effortlessly alongside today’s preeminent "Smooth Jazz" artists.
    This versatile artist can be found on various recordings ranging from classical pieces by 20th century American composers to jumping into the fray with "Indie Rock" bands.
    Currently, he performs various concerts around the country ranging from classical to jazz using his friendly, relaxed stage presence to expand the awareness and perceptions of the harp. This multi-talented performer has also made several television appearances both as a harpist and an actor (with multiple roles to his credit).

    Program: J. S. Bach - Solo work for violin, two movements; W. A. Mozart - Adaio and Rondo from Duo in G-major for violin and viola; Ernst von Dohnanyi - March and Finale from Serenade in C-major for string trio.
    A member of The Cleveland Orchestra since 1990, Kim Gomez studied at the Peabody  Conservatory, then earned a bachelor of music degree and an artist diploma from the  Cleveland Institute of Music, where she was a concerto competition winner. Her  teachers have included David Cerone, Josef Gingold, Daniel Heifetz, Virginia  Schneider, David Updegraff, Donald Weilerstein, and Mimi Zweig. 
    Ms. Gomez has appeared on three occasions as a soloist with the Louisville Symphony  Orchestra and solo appearances with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and the  Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Ms. Gomez  grew up in a musical family; her mother, Dorothy Nolen, was a singer. 
    Ms. Gomez and her husband, James, have five children: Dorothy, James Jr., Manuel,  Mariana, and Cecilia. Ms. Gomez enjoys running, reading, and singing in her church  choir. 
    Lisa Boyko joined The Cleveland Orchestra in 1991, after serving as a member of the  New Orleans Symphony, Toronto Symphony, and the Minnesota Orchestra. Born in  Cleveland and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Ms. Boyko studied for two years in Vienna at  the Musikgymnasium and the Hochschule für Musik. In 1985, she received a bachelor  of music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM), where she was a student  of Robert Vernon.

    Violinist Ariel Clayton Karaś performs for more and manages 200+ events annually as founder of Cleveland-based ensemble OPUS 216, and as director of Classical Revolution Cleveland. Via OPUS 216, she collaborates with numerous Cleveland institutions to create unique, dynamic, and meaningful performances.

    As a soloist, she performs regularly in healthcare and is one of Cleveland Clinic’s veteran Musicians in Residence. Her interests span multiple genres, from classical, to Irish fiddle, to the reimagining of pop and jazz.

    She has been featured on broadcasts for Cleveland’s WCLV and NPR stations, and her music was featured in the 2016 documentary Violins of Hope, narrated by Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody. As an orchestral musician, she recently served as concertmaster alongside the Chicago Jazz Orchestra, and as concertmaster for the orchestra accompanying Michael Buble’s 2019 arena show in Detroit.

    Ms. Clayton Karas enjoys a multi-faceted career as a performer, educator, collaborator, and contractor, and recently completed her 2018 tenure as Gordon Square Arts District’s first Musician In Residence.
