에피소드 25개

It started out as a monthly event that I did back in high school where I'd bring in my guitar and play music for people in the cafeterias. I would normally keep it upbeat and inspirational to help lighten the load of the stresses of classes and life. It later evolved into a little web series in freshman year of college where I wanted it to be a platform for music and motivation. I have featured a number of artists from my college community on it for my “Concert Series” specials, and have included community and charity highlights to help shed light on important topics and causes. Then, during the earlier months of the pandemic, I did weekly live stream concerts for friends and family. I would assess the vibe of the week, along with taking recommendations, and would create various themes.

After taking a break, I want to return to more narrative/interview based episodes, along with turning it into a podcast. In this new podcast format, this will be a part of what I will be calling “Walsh Wednesday: The Reflective Series." I want to sit down and talk with people in various job fields about how Covid has affected business, but also highlight the creativity and process people have been making, especially speaking with colleagues in the music and film industries, along with continuing to highlight charity organizations. Besides that, I really want to focus on the topic of mindfulness throughout. During this pandemic, I got to a point where I felt very lost and outside myself. It was a bit of an identity crisis of sorts, and I’ve been looking for positive outlets in order to learn, grow, and rebuild. As I'm finding my way back, I want to highlight and dedicate other episodes to topics that are important to me, such as loss/grieving, alcohol abuse, therapy, benefits of meditation, various aspects of the healthcare system, mindfulness, and much more. “Walsh Wednesday” is supposed to be a dialogue, not a monologue, so I am very excited to "Shine" some light on some great conversations! So, say "Yes" to tuning into this Walsh Wednesday Podcast, and I look forward to "Spending Some Time."

    Treasures in Life and Beyond

    Treasures in Life and Beyond

Recently, I have had the wonderful opportunity to get into audiobook and voice acting work. Today, I sit down with the author of the Golden Copper series, Rex Rian. Rex and I dive into the characters of the novels, the principles in which the novels wish to teach, and the inspiration that went into it. Start off with a sample of the audiobook we completed, Golden Sapphire: Treasures in Life and Beyond. The audiobook, along with the ebook and hard copy, can be purchased at the links below!

    Guitar Party

    Guitar Party

Every episode holds a very special place in my heart, but this was particularly meaningful for me becauseI was able to interview the woman who was my first musical instructor- and it was her first ever podcast appearance! On today's episode, it's my honor to introduce award winning singer/songwriter/guitarist/educator Helen Avakian.
It has been a while since Helen and I have seen each other, but it was wonderful catching up, and learning even more about her backstory. Bringing it back to her early education Delaware, to how she moved to New York and how we met, to where she is now in Wisconsin, Helen went into detail about how her passion grew. We also had an indepth conversation on focal dystonia, her challenges with it, and how mindful practice is key to building your skills and overall health. And lastly, we wrap things up about talking about some musical achievements, including the story behind her 2014 Fingerstyle Championship win along with other amazing awards and accomplishments.
In regards to music, Helen had some fun with aliteration. So, on today's Walsh Wednesday, you get to hear "Wilma's Waltz" and "Waking Up in Winfield," both accompanied by her partner, David Irwin.
For links people can find Helen Avakian at www.helenavakian.com as an artist and instructor.

    Getting Back Into The World

    Getting Back Into The World

Hey everybody! We reached Episode 30! And it is just me this week. I thought we could have a narative about things opening up again, and the feelingss that come along with it. The pandemic has been difficult on us all, and as things get back to "normal," we need to recognize how we have changed, for better or for worse. Only then we can properly move forward into this new world, at whatever pace we choose. I hope you take the time to join me this week because I feel this episode could be quite the cathartic experience, especially if you have been feeling alone and overwhelmed lately.

For The Love Of The Stage

For The Love Of The Stage

Thank you for tuning into this marvelous episode of Walsh Wednesday. This week, we have musician and actor Jarrad Green. Jarrad shares with us much of his love for theatre, his years on the stage, how he has pivoted since the pandemic, his recent marriage and move to the UK, and much more! Jarrad and I talk deeply about what the arts and the craft mean to us, along with the importance of understanding that we are also more than our profession. I know that it was a conversation I needed. As artists, we are not solely just our craft, and we have to take the time and energy to acknowledge that, and own who we are entirely. Quite the inspiring episode, so may sure you save this episode, it is not one you would want to miss!
