Youthomatic Shaun Karakkattu

Sophia Yan and Shaun Karakkattu co-hosted a special episode as a part of the Vanderbilt Buchanan Fellowship on the phenomenon of widespread misinformation among the immigrant communities on social media platforms and ways to combat non-English misinformation.

In this episode, Shaun Karakkattu discusses with Maryam Khan and Sarah Syed about the research and outreach they have both conducted. Maryam has worked with bioinformatics to study Endometriosis and Sarah Syed is developing a method to prevent algae blooms. Maryam dives into the creation of her non-profit, and Sarah talks about the outreach she has done with students in her community.

In this episode, Shaun Karakkattu asked Siddharth Satish and Arushi Bagchi, founders of Rememoirs about the structure and mission of their organization. Rememoirs is an nonprofit organization dedicated to helping seniors at local facilities with Alzheimer's and Dementia.  

In this episode, Shaun Karakkattu discusses senior projects with Rashi Magiyawala who conducted research about taking the fair out of lovely: colorism in South Asian beauty, and Maxfield Hohn who conducted research about reviving anthropology in the modern museum.  Maxfield talked about the development of the TA program at BASIS Mesa, and Rashi discussed the start of her fashion club. Rashi will be attending ASU in the fall, and Maxfield will be attending USC.
