Episode 47-Star Wars Prequel Trilogy: (1999-2005)

Episode 47-Star Wars Prequel Trilogy: (1999-2005)

Following our talk on the original trilogy, we are back to discuss Lucas' follow up prequel trilogy about Luke's father Anakin, released between 1999 to 2005 made up of The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones & Revenge of the Sith. While not as universally beloved as the OG films, these movies have found their own love with a new generation.

Anakin Skywalker is only nine when Jedi Master Qui-Gon-Jinn frees him from slavery and takes him to the Jedi to be trained. From boyhood to adulthood, Anakin is molded into a powerful Jedi Knight by Obi-Wan-Kenobi. But a secret marriage to Padme Amidala, The Clone Wars and an increasingly ineffective and resentful Jedi Counsel will soon push Anakin towards the Dark Side bringing the fate of the galaxy into question.

Join Lucas and Cordell as we discuss the legacy of the prequels, Jar Jar as well as the Clone Wars, Rebels and the merchandising of Star Wars that we indulged in as kids.

    Episode 43-Pieces (1982)

    Episode 43-Pieces (1982)

1974: the world was shocked by the brutality of Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. 1980: the world is enamored with the slasher with Friday the 13th. So what do you get when you combine those two? 1982's Spanish-American slasher/giallio Pieces, a movie that put gore at the forefront long before Saw.

Someone is carving up co-ed girls on campus with a large chainsaw and stealing body parts and it's up to Lt. Bracken to stop this maniac. But it won't be easy: the killer knows when to strike and where without police intervention. Along with his partner Sgt. Holden, pro-tennis player turned cop Mary Riggs and campus stud Kendall, Bracken must figure out who is building a human jigsaw before they complete their objective.

Does this film deserve its cult following? Why the hell does Bracken deputize Kendall who should be a suspect? Is Lucas enamored with Willard for his WWE approach with cops? Join us at CinaCult as we butcher our way through this hidden gem of 80's horror!
