I got my first television for Christmas in 1996. New York Undercover was in the middle of its 3rd season while Sister, Sister was in its 4th. Since both shows were available on network channels and my parents had a finicky relationship with cable, they were available for me to watch at my leisure. Sister, Sister was a fantastic and appropriate show for a 9 year-old, however, New York Undercover probably was not. I decided to make a podcast about my long love affair with television.

It's #EmmySeason. The year's biggest and brightest around the television industry are recognized and of course we all have feelings about who's nominated and not nominated. This year presents an interesting mix of nominees, some surprises and "snubs", but overall there are many categories with multiple favorites.

Saying Goodbye To Scandal
“Scandal” has officially ended. There are spoilers here, but this is mainly a short tribute and goodbye to one of the most influential network TV shows in the last decade. Shonda Rhimes' "Scandal" became part of a legendary primetime lineup so ingrained in American culture, TGIF was essentially replaced by TGIT with "Scandal" at the center.

Upcoming TV Premieres: Teyana & Iman, Alex, Inc., And More
There’s a ton of shows premiering this spring and I’ll do my best to watch them all for you. VH1 adds "Teyana & Iman" to their already full roster of reality TV, "Alex, Inc." is ABC's brainchild which happens to be about real life podcast extraordinaire, Alex Blumberg, and Bravo takes on an interesting reality show about Black stage plays, "Your Husband is Cheating On Us".

Review: For The People
ABC’s new show, For The People, was created by Paul William Davies. Davies is no stranger to ensemble casts portraying drama as he's a "Scandal" writing alum. The show follows a group of young lawyers from both sides of the court as they try major cases and try to have lives.

2018 Oscars: #OscarsSoWhiteAndBoring
The 90th annual Academy Awards happened, but nothing really happened. Some highlights include Mary J. Blige's performance, Jordan Peele's win for original screenplay, and the ending. There were not many surprises and the entire night outside of Peele's win followed the status quo.
