Just in time for Christmas, our second holiday film is Love Actually. We thought it was going to be a frustrating watch but actually Jackie loves it the more she talks about it (and drinks wine), and Louise....well Lou is mad.

We take each storyline in turn, agreeing that Colin should most likely get in the sea, Emma Thompson is a national treasure, and the 00s were a weird time when people (Mark) had terrible jumpers, Keira Knightley got bullied by the media for no reason we can fathom and everyone pretended that Martine McCutcheon isn't obviously super hot. And more!

Batman Returns is a film about one woman's crusade to avenge herself, and then sometimes corrupt and hurt men do things. We are lifelong Selina Kyle stans so really we just needed some time together to discuss her at length and then some tangents did materialise.

We also wax about Oingo Boingo for a couple minutes which we seem to do a lot for some reason.

This episode is quite recappy so don't worry if you haven't seen it in a while (but also, you won't regret a rewatch)!

There we were, just having a cute lil night to ourselves with friends, Lou has put on snacks, we're in our chicest casual wear just having a nice time and then we watched this, things happened, some nice, some BAD very BAD and we decided we needed to talk it out. So here is our most candid of takes, which may well change and mature with another viewing, and some space, and from definitely watching the rest of this series.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!

Some CWs first - suicide is weirdly a theme in this film so maybe skip the whole episode if this is something you don't want to hear about /3. Also, because JANE is a life ruiner who ruins lives, we have a brief chat involving the theme of infertility at 34:46-35:57 so it's skippable if you don't feel like hearing it today.

With that out the way, this is a cute little snappy episode for us - by far our shortest at just one hour! We are prouder of this than we should probably should be. We are BACK on Zoom, as Louise has skipped town for COP26 and Jackie got the 'rona, so please excuse the sound quality dip - will be back to the sweet profesh-sounding set up next time!
