Toke-toke, pass … the legislation? Why weed could become legal nationally
Today On Deadline is blazing a trail as we look at the reclassification of Marijuana. Last week, the Biden administration announced that it is passing forward its plans to reclassify marijuana. Currently, marijuana is classified as a Schedule One drug, which the Drug Enforcement Administration defines as a “drug with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.” However, through a reclassification, marijuana could soon be considered a Schedule three drug. 'To rent or to buy?': That's the question redefining the American dream
Today On Deadline is looking at a question our grandparents probably wouldn’t have considered. In fact, it seems to fly in the face of the American Dream. Is it better to rent or to buy? Is the relationship between the US and Israel broken?
Today On Deadline is looking at the relationship between Israel and the United States, which some believe is fraying under the weight of opposition at home over the death of civilians as a result of the Israel-Hamas war. As Israel continues its effort to destroy Hamas in Gaza, criticism has started to grow from the U.S. about the death of women and children and other non-military personnel. That has led to a pause in munitions shipments from Israel’s staunchest ally. 'On Deadline' is hosted and produced by Lauren Barry. It's also produced by Joe Hiti, Christy Strawser. Where will inflation end? Experts wonder as dollars stretch even thinner
Today, On Deadline is looking at the wound that’s been festering on the American economy for the last two years: Inflation. The Federal Reserve Bank that sets key interest rates has made it clear that until inflation hits its 2% target, rates will stay where they are – which is currently a 23-year-high. There was hope the tide could be changing in 2024. That’s because 2023’s 11 straight rate hikes were expected to bring inflation down and many were also expecting the Fed to start hitting the breaks on them. Now, it seems like that might have been wishful thinking. 'On Deadline' is hosted and produced by Lauren Barry. It's also produced by Joe Hiti, Christy Strawser. Sound design by Joe Hiti.
