The best stuff on the box for week beginning Saturday, February 29. Roger Crow, Sarah Morgan and Chris Daniel discuss the reboot of a TV classic; Al Pacino's much hyped drama; a Harrison Ford offering from 1979, and a Jean Claude Van Damme favourite by the same director from 1994. All that plus Halifax-based shenanigans and more.

What's the best stuff to watch on UK TV for week beginning Saturday, February 22, 2020?
Well, Sarah Morgan and Roger Crow once more deliver their pick of the best films and shows to peruse as the latest storms batter Blighty and viewers hunker down for a binge session in front of the box.
Among the choices are eighties classics from Meryl Streep and Richard Dreyfuss; a couple of cracking crime sagas on ITV and Netflix, and a tech-straordinary Channel 4 offering which you don't need to download from the (Mc)Cloud. The fact it's all delivered while on squeak-free unicycles is amazing really.

Sarah Morgan and Roger Crow are back again, this time looking at shows and films for week beginning Saturday, February 15, 2020. Despite being a man down, they still manage to wax lyrical about assorted UK TV offerings for half an hour, including the return of sublime BBC sitcom This Country; Larry David's HBO classic Curb Your Enthusiasm, and one film to rule them all: Peter Jackson's conversion of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. (I tried to avoid mentioning any Tolkien puns, but it's a hard Hobbit to break). Oh, and we also give a big shout out to Linda at Acast, who has helped this show make it to air, and to iTunes. Thanks Linda!

'You got what it takes', remarked Leicester tunesmiths Showaddywaddy in their 1977 top 10 smash. But which of the week's telly choices have what it takes to get a mention in this week's show?
Well, ahead of the week commencing Saturday, Feb 8, the team discuss the show they're watching; the one they're looking forward to, and their film of the week.
While Sarah opts for a Tarantino classic, Roger goes for a drama from Sicario creator Taylor Sheridan. And then, in a rug-pulling moment, Chris reveals his film of the week.
The Morgan/Crow/Daniel collective also discuss Patrick Stewart boldly going in Amazon's Star Trek spin-off Picard; Adam Sandler's gobsmacking performance in Netflix drama Uncut Gems, and a look back at a Bruce Forsyth show which set the template for prime time weekend TV.
If that's not enough to keep you hooked, there's also Chris's pick of the sporting highlights, which should be edge-of-the-seat stuff, if you're not too busy watching another choice, Richard Osman's strangely addictive BBC Two offering House of Games.
Less controversial than a Joaquin Phoenix speech at the Baftas, and almost as funny as Rebel Wilson's, this is a feast of TV and film criticism for the discerning listener.

Cast adrift on respective desert islands, Sarah Morgan and Roger Crow choose their ideal TV shows to keep them occupied while waiting for rescue. What are said shows? Well, you'll have to tune in to find out.
They also pick the films they'd love to watch, and dragging things back to reality for week beginning February 1, 2020, a look at a couple of shows worth a watch: the long awaited return of Inside No 9, and this year's back-slapping fest, The Baftas.

Chris Daniel, Sarah Morgan and Roger Crow discuss some of the best shows and films on UK TV for week beginning Saturday, 25th January, 2020. Among the televisual pearls are ITV drama White House Farm; a documentary about 1917 and Skyfall director Sam Mendes; enduring quiz 8 Out of 10 Cats, the invincible (but currently flawed) Coronation Street; the Clooney-free original version of sci-fi classic Solaris, and more.
