In this episode, we sit with Carol Ng'ang'a a public theologian and founder of Msingi Trust to discuss church trauma and accountability within the church.   

Carol Ng’ang’a is a community development practitioner. In July 2017, she founded Msingi Trust whose aim is to ‘Mobilize, Inspire, Equip and Network Christians and community leaders towards Social Justice, Social Activism and Social Transformation. 

She is an ardent believer of justice, equality and empowerment for all and has special interest in working with faith leaders and grassroots human rights defenders, bridging the gaps, making connections between these two worlds, to create conversation content and connections to help in the fight  against injustice within their community contexts. 

She was also part of the first 2018 Tearfund Young Theologian and is currently part of 2020’s  Tearfund Inspired Individuals program.

In 2017 we participated in the General elections, running for the Kileleshwa ward MCA seat. Sophie Otiende is a Feminist, teacher and survivor advocate for trafficking. She is passionate about ethical engagement of trafficking survivors in the sector and ethical storytelling.

She is a 2015 vital voices fellow and the recipient of the US Trafficking in Persons Report Hero 2020.

She is the Director of Consulting for Survivor Alliance. She is also the Founder of a survivor led initiative in Kenya called Azadi Kenya that focuses on supporting survivors of trafficking with long term care and leadership skills to engage more in the human rights space.

She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery (GFEMS).
