Episode 34; is here pals! The latest in our "Wrestling Art Curator" special-edition interview series focusing on the art practices of rad wrestling-artists! I'm way excited today to be talking to the extremely talented gentleman that is Shining Wizard Designs/Matt Charlton!
Matt's work is just so wonderful & I've been a fan of his for quite a while! Just an INSANE output of top-notch work!! A positively LOVELY chat is had all about making wrestling-art, thinking about wrestling-art, the 'value' of said art, trying to keep up with our own expectations & self-criticisms & attempting to juggle this thing with the other parts of our lives.
In my intro monologue, I chat about being a bit of a hypocrite, 'enjoying' the making process & my exciting new Chris Things Art Mailing List idea.

It's our Chris Things Art "Match of the Week" Edition w/ the esteemed Unkle of Beeks back for another 'DOUBLE-HEADER' episode talking the delightfully odd combination of El Hijo Del Dr. Wagner Jr. vs KENOH for the GHC Heavyweight Championship from February of this year in NOAH as well as Terry Funk vs Abdullah the Butcher from December of 1978 in All Japan! We talk all about both of these great, (very different) matches & a good deal of nonsense - including the fantastic exploits of Silver King - whilst keeping to a tidy, approximately 1 hour run-time!
In my 'World of Chris-Things' intro monologue I chat about my recent solo show opening night and some upcoming art-initiatives coming out of it.

Episode 32; is here friends! So in lieu of being way too busy to do a normal episode in my final week before the big solo show at Scratch, I thought I'd do another special little solo edition for you! Having just hanged the show this morning, I am quite tired, giddy & generally a bit delirious so felt that would be the perfect thing to capture in audio-form!! In the pint-sized episode I take you behind the artist curtain of what goes into prepping for a solo art show, some of the considerations & my general thought-process behind it. Including the ROAD WARRIORS & BIG VITO! We also talk a myriad of nonsense, not limited to discussions of whether Tenryu's curls are natural & Riki's preferred beach-wear of choice.

In my opening monologue I chat 'art-tabling' at Lucha Fantastica in Melbourne, getting sick between shows, turning it around for the following week in Geelong & now preparing for a big solo show at The Scratch at the end of the month!
