140. How AI is silencing your voice, with Manpreet Dhillon
I’ve been a loud voice in publishing about the future of AI—and today, I’m taking that conversation a step further. In this powerful discussion with diversity, equity, and inclusion leader Manpreet Dhillon, we discuss the intersection between inclusion and AI and dig deeply into inherent bias and how AI is silencing our voices. We also explore her work nurturing authentic, human-centered workplaces and the idea of “holistic leadership.”
My guest, Manpreet Dhillon, is the founder and principal inclusion officer for Veza Global, an equity, diversity, and inclusion consulting firm. She is passionate about the Future of Work and how it is inclusive for women of color and those with invisible disabilities in the workplace. Manpreet brings over twenty years of experience in holistic leadership coaching, human resources, change management, internal audits, and community development. She focuses on creating systemic change to address institutionalized inequalities through representation from the communities served.

139. Why the gut is the future of health, with Greer McGuinness
I’ve been on a personal journey to understand the gut and how it impacts overall health, including the brain and chronic disease. And wow—it’s a fascinating area of study!
This week, I’m excited to welcome a guest to share more about this important area of wellness. Greer McGuinness, MS, RD, CDN, CLT, DTSP, CMH, is a registered dietitian, certified detox specialist, certified master herbalist, and certified lyme specialist who owns a virtual private practice called Biomedical Healing for Kids.
In this episode, we discuss:
Greer’s personal story and how her son’s level-2 autism diagnosis inspired her work today
How the gut impacts the brain and body, including brain development, mood, and more
What conventional medicine is missing with neurodevelopmental conditions and chronic disease
Steps you can take right now to heal the gut and remove the toxic load in your body
She is a published researcher on her work with autism and alternative medicine, and trained in herbal medicine with expertise in detoxing toxins, gut health, and improving nutrient status. Using her rebalance road map, she created the first-ever detoxing toxins in pediatrics course to help parents and providers learn how to safely and effectively detox toxins in children through biomedical testing and integrative treatment, so children can advance in their developmental abilities and grow to lead an active and healthier life.

138. Publishing as activism, with Rebekah Borucki, founder of Row House
It’s no secret that the publishing industry is riddled with inequity. Basically every stage is white: authors to staff at publishing houses to marketing campaigns targeting white readers, the system is not designed to amplify marginalized voices. That’s why I’m grateful for this week’s conversation with Rebekah Borucki, founder and president of Row House. Along with sharing her personal story, we discuss:
The inequities in publishing
How Row House is aiming to change the publishing landscape at scale
Their innovative 40/40 model
Some behind-the-scenes of their submissions process
Along with being the founder and president of Row House, Rebekah is a mother to five, grandmother to one, self-help and children’s author, and founder and president of Wheat Penny Press and the WPP Little Readers Big Change Initiative. She is driven by a commitment to make wellness, self-learning, and literacy tools available to all and to help others recover the freedoms stolen from them by white supremacy through activism centering on Black liberation and trans rights.
