There is no area of life that the Old Testament book of Proverbs leaves untouched. Proverbs is part of what’s known as the “Wisdom Literature” in the Bible. In May and June, we’re going to focusing on how to gain wisdom in a sermon series called “Get Smart”. There are lots of great stories in the Bible. But the best ones…the ones that move our hearts to worship, the ones that fire our imagination for service, the ones that can create a lump in the throat or tears in the eyes usually contain two important words: “But, God…” That is the sudden joyous turn in the story that gives us hope again.
