Monroe Martin on Embracing Carnage, the Art of Bombing and How to Write Personal Jokes (S4:E3)

Monroe Martin on Embracing Carnage, the Art of Bombing and How to Write Personal Jokes (S4:E3)

In this episode, I speak with Monroe Martin (LAST COMIC STANDING) about his life from foster care to comedy mecca, The Comedy Cellar. Monroe gets very candid in the hardships he endured early in his life as a product of the foster care center, how he beat those odds and used the skills he learned to survive in foster care to make a living in stand up comedy and tour the world. Monroe offers great advice in what you can learn by bombing, how to explore personal jokes that aren't working, how to keep your act flexible and he pulls back the curtain into his own joke writing process.

Monroe reveals the tumultuous relationship he had with both his mother and father and the life he endured when he moved to New York City to pursue his passion of a career in stand up comedy. If you are a fan of Monroe's or a fan of stand up comedy, or just starting out in a career in stand up, this is an episode you must watch!
