Last month ‘The Cass Review’, an inquiry in the UK that was set up to look into how the NHS provided gender-affirming care to people under 18, was made public. It was said that the point of this review was to recommend improvements where necessary, but it was made clear immediately that it was actually the opposite.

Used by the anti-trans lobby to attack trans rights, even though medical professionals and Australian experts were clear that the review had no place in our countries legislation or the health profession, it’s being used as an example for why they felt being Trans was not okay and we needed to “Think of the children” – especially in mainstream media.

But if we are talking facts and not fiction, how exactly was a review like this even able to get to the point that it’s seen as something credible.

To help us break this down, we are joined this morning by Jacob Thomas, who, amongst other things is a PhD student at ARCSHS at La Trobe University.

US singer-songwriter Mark Ambor’s new single ‘Belong Together‘ not only brings us a lot of joy to listen to, but does the same for listeners all around the world.

Last week it hit 100 million streams, a massive 22 million streams up from the week before, and right now Mark is touring across Europe with a waitlist for every one of his concerts, so Dean was pumped that he could join us on JOY Breakfast to talk about the track and his first world-tour.

With three new cases of MPox diagnosed in Melbourne last month, Thorne Harbour Health have set up a pop up vaccine clinic in Abbotsford Melbourne this week, and Dean asked Simon Ruth all about it.

The clinic will run from 1-8pm on Wednesday 8th of May and you can just walk on in.

It is free and easy drop-in Mpox vaccinations for all men who have sex with men.

Two doses of vaccine 28 days apart are required for the best protection against Mpox
