    Parthasarthi Vaidya recites his renowned grandfather Meenpiyasi's works

    Poet Meenpiyasi is a very renowned poet from Gujarat. His actual name was DinkarRai  Keshavlaal Vaidya. And Meenpiyasi was his Takkhalus (Pen name) so He wrote all his works specially poetries under the name Meenpiyasi.  He belongs to a very small village called Chuda, it is in Surendranagar district and located near Ahmedabad, Gujarat. 

    Besides Meenpiyasi's mastery in poetry, he was an ardent ornithologist, theosophist, and astronomer (He used to study sky, stars, and universe very keenly.) And He has written many books on all the subjects of his interest.  He was very much attached to the nature and it reflects in his poetry and all his works. That’s why many people call him a lover of nature.  He breathed his last at age of 90.

    In this episode of Kaavya, Meepiyasi's grandson pays him a tribute by reciting some of his timeless works.

    Meena Chheda has lived an extraordinary life in ordinary circumstances.She grabbed whatever opportunities came her way, always ready for novel experiences to enrich her personality. After graduation and marriage, she associated with a publishing house. When computers came to India, she educated herself on the keyboard, and slowly emerged a master of the art!

    Today, she holds a key position in a software-digital company, dedicated to digitizing Gujarati language. In her free time, Chedda does what she is good at, which is writing poetry!

    Anvar Ali is a renowned poet, lyricist, translator, and documentary filmmaker.He has been contributing to poems and poetic studies in Kerala since 1984.

    Mazhakkalam (The Rainy Season), 1999, his first collection of poems established him as one of the prominent voices in contemporary Malayalam poetry. His poems have been translated into various Indian and foreign languages and are included in several anthologies of Malayalam as well as Indian poetry of the post-modern phase.

    Critically acclaimed actor Deepti Naval recites some of her treasured works on Kaavya

    Deepti Naval is an artiste in the true sense of the word. Behind her silence lies a strength that has made Deepti Naval the persona she is today. 

    Born in northern India, Deepti Naval is an acclaimed actor. After her schooling, she migrated to the United States, where she was educated at the City University of New York and received her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Hunter College in Manhattan.

    She made her debut with the movie Ek Baar Phir in the year 1979 and has acted in more than 60 films since then. Among these are Chashmebaddoor, Kamla, Mirch Masala, Ankahi, Main Zinda Hoon, Panchvati, and more recently, Leela and Freaky Chakra. She also wrote and directed Thodasa Aasmaan, a TV serial about women, and produced a travel show called The Path Less Traveled. A selection of poems in Hindi, Lamha-Lamha was published in 1983 and more recently, MapinLit brought out a new collection called BLACK WIND and Other Poems. She is also a painter and photographer with several exhibitions to her credit and enjoys trekking in the remote mountains of Himachal and Ladakh. She also runs the Vinod Pandit Charitable Trust, set up in memory of her late companion, for the education of the girl child.
