I'm a feminist, a philosopher, and an educator at heart, and I'm committed to exploring creative ways to see ourselves and each other more clearly. By connecting ideas and concepts to everyday reflections and real life experiences, this podcast provides a glimpse into my own process through practices of critical self-reflection, engaged intimacy, and feminist friendship. EP5: Learning Healing

These are direct excerpts from my notebook pages written between January 29th and February 24th, 2022. It's not everything I wrote, but it is a (nearly) unedited, raw, and honest glimpse into a few weeks of my journey and process.

EP3: When We Create a World Without Oppression

EP3: When We Create a World Without Oppression

Situating COVID-19 as the backdrop to this movement, led by #BlackLivesMatter, there is so much to process from the month of June. This episode introduces critical views on privilege, whiteness, and the power of using our most meaningful moments to imagine a world without oppression. There are strong undercurrents about connection, community, and queer dance parties, fueled by a longing for creative ways to make space for joy and know that we're all in this together.

EP2: Freedom That Moves Toward Liberation

EP2: Freedom That Moves Toward Liberation

When the world feels too heavy and we begin to lose ourselves in feeling overwhelmed, we may flounder with doubt and begin to wonder, "Why?" Why push on? Why even try? In the first episode, I emphasized we need to understand more than just "the what" of social justice. We also need to learn how. But beneath all of that, in order for our work to be meaningful to us, to be compelling enough for us to shift how we live every single day and literally change the world, I think we must have some sense for why. I share Simone de Beauvoir's take on existentialist ethics as a resource to explore why social justice, why freedom and why liberation.

EP1: For the Love of Meta Moments

EP1: For the Love of Meta Moments

I process on meta levels about 90% of the time, and if this podcast does what I hope it will, you'll be saying, "OMG. That's so meta!" soon, too. This episode is an introduction to what you need to know to make sense of this project - a little about me and some framing concepts (like love and social justice as spiritual practice, processing the process, and feminist friendship). If things ever get confusing or unruly as this podcast develops, we can always return back to this episode, find our bearings, and remind ourselves of what is going on here.
