“The Darkness He has overcome-Pamela’s Testimony.”

Have you ever gone through something so dark that you feel trapped with no way out? Like drowning and trying to come up to the surface to get a breath of oxygen? We all have gone through seasons where we feel afraid, alone, overburdened, and trapped…some call it “rock bottom”, we call it “the valley”. Pamela speaks on a personal level her own story of redemption, where God met her at her darkness, and walked with her through the long journey of postpartum and anxiety. She hopes to bring awareness to what nearly every mom battles alone as she shares her experience and how Jesus showed up and lit up the darkness she found herself in. You are not alone. We’ve walked through it too momma. Jesus got you! If you or anyone you know is battling depression or anxiety, we have attached some resources that may help you. Please spread the word and the awareness, but most of all SPREAD LOVE! https://www.postpartum.net https://psidirectory.com https://www.regenerationrecovery.org https://instagram.com/momandmind?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Isolation, the weight that keeps us paralyzed-Hebrews 10:24-25

Isolation, the weight that keeps us paralyzed-Hebrews 10:24-25

Have you found yourself pulling away from the people around you? Is the unrealistic expectation of how others should treat you or view you one of the reasons you remain alone? We’ve all been there, we are all prone to the habit of isolating ourselves to our “safe” space, yet by keeping any ounce of pain out, we also keep out the love and the joy we receive from the world. Isolation is a dangerous trap, it promises safety and comfort yet hands us the complete opposite. You’re not alone. The Lord is calling us near to Him, He knows exactly the nature of who we are and still chooses to call us to Himself. If we are fully known by Him, and fully Loved by Him, then what is stopping us? Today is the day to live loved and accepted, no matter your mess.

Faith. When fear grips our heart.-Isaiah 26:3

Faith. When fear grips our heart.-Isaiah 26:3

It’s easy for fear to overcome and overwhelm us when the world around us is chaotic. Losses, hardship, and a total brokenness of everything good surrounding us. But there is hope, and it’s found in a person, Jesus. The prince of peace. As believers our highest calling is to love God and love others, and as we surrender and walk in our calling, God will bring life and peace to a world gripped by fear and pain, as He uses us for His great purpose. So don’t lose hope, Isaiah 26:3 says “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose eyes are fixed on you.” You hear that?! Perfect peace!! Yes, not small peace, circumstantial peace, or momentary peace, but PERFECT PEACE. As we live, surrender, and place our focus on Him, no matter the chaos that is happening around us. Now that’s the Peace He offers.

Obedience as a response to our love for God.

Obedience as a response to our love for God.

Living by the flesh vs. living by the Spirit.

We will never see improvements in our flesh. Our flesh can’t be fixed. It must be put to death.
If our flesh could be fixed then Jesus would not have nailed it to the cross.

I become all too frustrated when I ask God to “take this away from me” and then I see no improvements, in my flesh. I do what I need to In order to “improve” or “rid of” my struggles. Yet far too often I drift away from the Truth that “I can’t fix me” and the reality is “I can’t fix my flesh” I must put it to death, just as Jesus did, and in that I will learn a new truth. The Truth of what it looks like to live by the Spirit.

Jesus didn’t die so He could fix our “flesh”, He died and rose again so that we may learn a new way. The way of the Spirit. To live by it, be filled by it, and produce every bit of fruit that comes from it. Not by our own human efforts, but by the Power that comes from Him.

So I prayed a new prayer yesterday that has been bringing new meaning to my life and to all the scripture I know:

“Lord, teach me to live by the Spirit and NOT by the flesh.”
    In Jesus name.
    Amen.

    (Galatians 5:1-25)

“We love because He first Loved us”

“We love because He first Loved us”

Truth is the foundational element that never changes in which everything is sustained. — My version of truth can be completely opposite to the Word of God, so I must learn not to trust in the lies I believe. God’s Word never changes, it sustains life itself, and it sustains me. Yet when I am called to love fervently and radically, I make that an option to live by. As if I had a choice. But Love is what wraps the entire gospel, and if we take a deep look at the substance of Truth, we will find that Love is the sustaining element of it. God is love. It’s who He is, what He is, and what He does. It is His unchanging character, and the motivation for our salvation. And we as His children, are called to reflect that character into the world; “Loving God, and Loving others.” The highest of all commandments, and the one with the greatest reward. Yet, how difficult it is to put it into practice? Yea I know. It’s hard. Specially loving our enemies. Those who we are certain will hurt us in return, or those who will take our loving ways for granted. But isn’t that what we did to God? Reject him, Hurt Him, and take His love for granted? Because Love is not an emotion, it is a verb, its placing others above ourselves and their needs as higher than ours, to the point of “dying” to ourselves. Let our salvation be our motivation to live out truth in our lives. There we will know what is the true foundation in which we are standing on. Being hearers and doers of His Word.

Our thoughts and the renewing of our minds-Romans 12:2

Our thoughts and the renewing of our minds-Romans 12:2

    Do you have those days when your own mind takes a hold of you and you feel in bondage? I know I do! The greatest struggles we face begin in the mind. When we come to the end of our rope, after we have tried it all and made all effort, God takes us to a place of surrender. Romans 12:2 says to not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewal of our minds. Most of the struggles we face within ourselves began as perceptions we created from experiences in our past that became truths we believed and walked in for so long...with that knowledge in mind I read Romans 12:2 differently “Do not be confirmed to [your experiences, perceptions, and emotions] but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-His good, perfect, and pleasing will.” My past no longer has to define my present, my emotions no longer have control over my actions, and the truth is no longer based on what I’ve been through but of what God says in His Word. Transformation is attainable by God’s Word. Be submerged in His Word. Be raw and honest with God. Replace all lies with Truth. And asking God to expose our unbelief and tear out the root of our struggles. {Book reference-‘Forgiving what you can’t forget’ by Lysa Terkeurst}
