    ISOLATED MOTHERS with Rebecca Gilchrist

If there was one thing you think society should talk more about, what would it be? “The isolation and lack of resources for rural women and mothers”_____Today we meet an extraordinary human. Rebecca Gilchrist is a mother of two, farmer and Clinical Psychologist living and breathing rural life on a 6th generation mixed grazing property in NSW. The rolling granite hills of the New England tablelands are a long way from her childhood as an expatriate, the daughter of a telco executive, raised travelling and living abroad in China, India and Türkiye. When Rebecca found herself birthing her daughter on an ambulance plane at 33 weeks, a stint in NICU and navigating a second high-risk pregnancy in the bush she was confronted with the deafening echo of challenges experienced by many women in accessing maternity care and support for birth trauma recovery in the bush. Rebecca is passionate about sharing her story and bringing mental health services to rural women throughout all of Australia - not just those in the cities. Let’s meet Rebecca and hear more of her story.Website: www.rgpsychology.com.au (http://www.rgpsychology.com.au)Instagram: @her_rural_psychologist (https://www.instagram.com/her_rural_psychologist/?hl=en)*****Head to michellejcox.com for more information about the ONE QUESTION podcast, your host or today’s guestsConnect with Michelle on Linkedin here:- @MichelleJCox (https://www.linkedin.com/in/michellejcox/)Connect with Michelle on Instagram here:- @michellejcox (https://www.instagram.com/michelle.j.cox/)Connect with Michelle on Facebook here - @michellejcox (https://www.facebook.com/coxxygal/)AND, if you have a burning topic you’d love people to talk more about, or know someone who’d be great to come on the One Question podcast, please get in touch;- hello@michellejcox.com (mailto:hello@michellejcox.com)

    SOBER AWKWARD with Victoria Vanstone

If there was one thing you think society should talk more about, what would it be? “As a culture why do we feel the need to top-up our personalities with booze and not be our authentic selves socially?” Victoria Vanstone is the host of Sober Awkward, a popular comedy podcast that tracks two former party animals as they navigate life without booze. Victoria started writing on the day she gave up alcohol and became a renowned over-sharer on her blog drunkmummysobermummy.com (http://drunkmummysobermummy.com/). The reformed ‘party girl’ is now on a mission to help others who are stuck in a pattern of normalised social binge drinking. Originally from Reading in the UK, Vic now lives on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland with her brood of uncontrollable children, a rather confused dog, and a very patient husband. Victoria's first book 'A Thousand Wasted Sundays' (https://www.booktopia.com.au/a-thousand-wasted-sundays-victoria-vanstone/book/9780645757941.html) is out now and I was super excited to meet her - I hope you love this conversation as much as I did.**If you’re in New Zealand, Sober Awkward are doing a live show on May 30, 2024. WHAT’S STOPPING YOU with Monique van Tulder

If there was one thing you think society should talk more about, what would it be? “Extenuating circumstances aside: What is stopping you from closing the gap between the world you inhabit, and the one you never explored, but wish you did?”______Monique van Tulder knows this generation of mid-life women have had enough. With helicopter parenting, juggling careers (perhaps professional life taking a backseat), or caring for aging family members, it’s time for second-act women to spend resources and time on themselves. Yeah!!Monique is leading Conversations on Mid-Life Wellbeing Teaching others on how to expand a mid-life in joy and creating space for themselves, encouraging them to design their guidebook for A Grown Ups Gap Year.Authentically sharing her story of mid-life reinvigoration - her own Eat Pray Runaway & Return adventure (she abandoned her family for eight months) - Monique’s wisdom inspires other women to prioritise health & well-being, financial literacy, retirement or professional life, and of course, travel retreats and adventure also! Monique leads an engaged online community of like-minded mid-age women who want to regain control of their lives. Her mantra: “Now, is your time” sounds like just the antidote for many of us living a life seemingly for others & not ourselves. Let’s find out more from the wonderful Monique van Tulder. Her book ‘A Grown Ups Gap Year’ 101 Really Practical Journeys for Navigating mid-life (I wish someone told me) will be available June 2024 (The Wellbeing Travel Guide series). For more information about Monique, check out these places;-Website: https://www.moniquevantulder.com.au/Instagram: @moniquevantulderHead to michellejcox.com for more information about the ONE QUESTION podcast, your host or today’s guestsConnect with Michelle on Linkedin here:- @MichelleJCox (https://www.linkedin.com/in/michellejcox/)Connect with Michelle on Instagram here:- @michellejcox (https://www.instagram.com/michelle.j.cox/)Connect with Michelle on Facebook here -
