Episode 2: Making Sense of the Sensory (Holiday Special)
In this episode Dr Ruth makes sense of the sensory issues that may present for young children with developmental delays. We talk about the 7 sensory systems and the ways in which some children may have difficulty processing certain input, but be super motivated by others. Understanding that all children have a unique sensory profile helps those around them develop fun play activities to support engagement and motivation to communicate. It's all about balance!

We also discuss the importance of early support for young children with ASD and the power of parent led intervention, even in places like the UK where there are very few options for effective, evidence based therapy services.
