Fleet is a bootstrapped French startup that helps companies simplify IT management. The company operates a sort of Device-as-a-Service model that is transforming the way startups manage equipment and onboard new employees.

In the conversation we chat with Alexandre about how his experience in Private Equity before moving on to Rocket Internet and Ironhack, where he was COO, shaped the way he runs Fleet.

We also chat about the explosive growth in entrepreneurship and startups in France and his activity as a business angel and LP, having backed more than 100 companies to date from all over Europe.

Freepik es una de las principales startups que se han creado en España hasta ahora. Desde Málaga y sin haber conseguido financiación, Freepik alcanzó los €80 millones de facturación en 2022 y se convirtió también en una de las páginas web de España con mayor tráfico. Su negocio principal es el de ofrecer a particulares y empresas recursos gráficos (logos, iconos, presentaciones, etc) creados por terceros y también por un equipo interno de diseñadores.

We continue with our LatAm series and in this week’s episode we chat with Carlos Torras, partner at Fintech Collective.

Carlos has a very interesting career. Born in Barcelona, he studied in Brazil and US before working at JP Morgan in NYC in the FX options trading desk. After three years at the job he decided to move to Colombia to work at Suyo, an early stage startup that unlocks the value of low-income families' homes with land titling and property formalization technology, where he became COO.

After that experience, he moved back to the US to join Fintech Collective, an early stage fund founded in 2012 with offices in NYC and London that “backs entrepreneurs who are rewiring the way money moves through the world”.

Fintech Collective invests all over the world, especially in developing economies, and a big chunk of our conversation with Carlos explores the fintech opportunities in such markets: Latin America, Africa, India and other regions.

Cubbo es una startup que ofrece un servicio de fulfillment para empresas de ecommerce, tanto tradicionales como de DTC (direct-to-consumer).

Ignasi lleva ya fuera de España 10 años, trabajando tanto en Estados Unidos como en Mexico, y aprovecharemos para hablar con él de cómo se ve el ecosistema español (y europeo) desde la distancia, de qué cosas han mejorado y qué cosas todavía deben mejorar más.

Ignasi nos explicará cómo funciona Cubbo y también la situación actual del mercado de ecommerce en Mexico (y Brasil), y por qué cree que es el momento óptimo para surfear la ola en el país.
