    SENSE(LESS) Conversations - Episode 7

After a long break in production, which may or may not have been due to us desperately trying to finish our PhDs and start new jobs, we are back! In this special episode of SENSELESS Conversations we talk to Dr Mike Richardson and Dr Naomi Heffer (i.e. us) about their PhD experiences researching across the senses. If you’ve ever wanted to know how electrocuting the tongue could be used to help visually-impaired rock climbers or why it is so difficult to tell how people are feeling over the phone, we have the answers to these and more as we highlight the real-life importance of understanding multisensory perception.

Recorded 21st June 2022. Hosted by Naomi Heffer and Mike Richardson. Music credit: Xythe via freesound.org, licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license.

If Mike’s research has inspired you to try out sensory substitution for yourself, search for EyeMusic (iPhone) or The vOICe (Android/PC).
