In this podcast, we explore the energies of each season, and what the beings of light from the Devic Realm would like us to know about how to co-create with them in balance, harmony and light. We’ll look at the energies of each week, the energies of each season, and what is happening environmentally around the Planet and what we can do to help.

We also examine the polarities of the seasons through the lens of the Northern and Southern hemispheres, and how we are always learning about duality and dynamically balancing the energies within us, around us and through us all the time.

It's time to stop being so mean to myself

It's time to stop being so mean to myself

    Hello Friends,
I’ve just been so mean to myself lately! And I’m becoming aware of how much my self-criticism and, actually, my cruelty to myself is affecting everything. It’s like a slime over everything.
My awareness of a thing that needs a bit of healing attention is usually enough to shift the energies, but this time, it doesn’t seem to be doing the trick. I can recognize these thoughts as I’m having them, but they continue to play in a loop even after I think, “that’s not very nice.” So I asked within what I could do, and received this simple exercise from my inner guidance. Every night, before bed, I’m to list five nice things about myself.
The exercise is brand new, I’ve only done it for two nights so far, but I think it’s already beginning to shift something because I’ve woken up feeling better these last couple of mornings.
I wanted to share this with you, in case you’re being super mean to yourself too. I am really looking forward to this next layer of healing, because it feels long overdue. And also because I think it will really make a big difference.
I hope this finds you well!
Sending lots of love and light,
    Jodie

    Joy and transmutation

    Joy and transmutation

    Hello Friends,
I’ve been thinking a lot about joy since chatting with my friend Maid4luv on her YouTube channel last week. We were discussing how joy can assist in the process when a being is dying, but I realized joy can help in any process of transformation and transmutation.
In today’s episode, I share a message I received from the Light about joy, and how joy is transforming and healing things for me, and for our darling dog, Ginger.
I hope this finds you all well, and that your week is full of joy!
Sending light and love from here,
    Jodie

    Adventures in catastrophizing

    Adventures in catastrophizing

    Hello Friends,
I recently had a moment of such complete clarity, and I’ve been thinking about it all week. I’m a chronic catastrophizer — have been since childhood. I thought it was just a part of who I am, and something that I accepted about myself. Deep down, I think I believed it was keeping me safe to be constantly preparing for the worst, worst, worst case scenario, because if I thought about it enough, and felt what it would feel like if it happened, I’d know I could survive whatever came.
But lately, I’ve had occasion to realize this way of processing my fear is actually causing me intense pain, and a lot of it might be unnecessary. In this episode, I share some of what brought about this awareness, and what I’m doing to work on creating new patterns for processing my fears.
I hope this finds you all well!
    Sending love and light,
    Jodie

The first time I heard death described as 'beautiful'

The first time I heard death described as 'beautiful'

    Hello Friends,
This week was full of highs and lows. We had such a wonderful appointment with our dog Ginger and her new best friend, the working dog at dog training. And later in the week, Ginge had surgery to remove an egg-sized tumor from her throat. She’s snoring happily in the background, and seems to be recovering well so far, but it’s been a week around here.
There’s lots I want to share about both these things, and some amazing things Ginger has taught me recently, but I’m not quite at the find-the-words stage of things. So instead, I thought it might be a good time to share an excerpt from my upcoming book, Beautiful Death. It’s coming out on June 13, and I’m getting really excited to share the whole thing with you soon!
I hope you enjoy this episode, and thank you so much for listening!
Sending love and light from here,
    Jodie

    Springing in The Garden

    Springing in The Garden

    Hello Friends,
It’s really Springing here in The Garden, and I’m so excited to report that everything is turning a lovely shade of bright green. We’re just beginning the first bits of outside work, and feeling proud of our little accomplishments so far. If we keep going like this, we might actually have everything ready for last frost! We’re about six or seven weeks away still, so it feels like plenty of time, but is it ever actually plenty of time?
Today’s episode is an update on all things Spring here, so I hope you enjoy this little ramble through life in the garden this time of year.
Thank you so much for listening, and I hope this finds you well!
    Sending light,
    Jodie

    Accepting my own limitations. Again.

    Accepting my own limitations. Again.

    Hello Friends,
This week, a busy schedule and a growing list of things I really want to do brought me face-to-face with a decision that shouldn’t have been hard or fraught or dramatic at all. And yet …
I’ve decided that instead of publishing both the Welcome to the Garden podcast and the Notes from the Garden newsletter each week, I’m going to publish one of these per week and alternate weeks. This is probably interesting information to you, as a listener, but really not a big deal. I understood, rationally, that this was a pretty low-stakes decision with only positive outcomes.
But emotionally, I really struggled with this. I couldn’t figure out why, at first, until I was leaving a voice note for a friend and said, “I just hate to give up ground I’ve fought so hard to gain.” I’ve worked really hard these last few months, and felt really proud that I’ve been able to do both each week. And I realized this wasn’t about the podcast or the newsletter, at all, but instead it was about accepting my own limitations. Once again.
This week, I’m sharing how I hit up against some old wounds from when I first got so sick, and the emotions I didn’t realize were still buried deep down from when I had to let nearly everything I cared about go. And I’m sharing how just recognizing this, writing about it, and sharing it with you here has helped me heal another layer of it.
Friends, thank you so much for listening! I really enjoy sharing what I’m learning about my world with you, and I hope that, if you’re going through anything similar, my processing helps you find deeper understanding and more clarity with what you’re going through.
    Sending love,
    Jodie
