What about, Difficult Women‪?‬ Wait, What?

    • Personal Journals

In this episode we introduce our 3 part series for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. We start the series by talking about as women, we are set up for a zero sum game. If you dress up, wear make-up, even wear a skirt, you are trying to get attention and trying too hard, yet if you wear sweats, a hat and no make-up, you aren’t taking care of yourself. If you wear a short skirt or a low cut shirt, you are a slut, but if you wear sweats and sweatshirt then you are a slob. If a guy makes a mistake, it’s laughed off, however, if a woman makes a mistake, she’s dumb. When a guy gets in a car accident, it’s chalked up to learning or laughed off, however, if a woman gets in an accident, “all women” are bad drivers. The problem with this “game”, is that everyone loses. We talk about these paradoxes and more. In the end we ask that everyone goes away thinking about how we each show up and how we would like to show up. We each need to accept, and do our own work, asking the question, how is this serving me? Thank you for listening.
