Four reasons you shouldn't preach on parenting

1. Not everyone is a parent

2. Parenting is deeply personal

3. Parenting is hard

4. Parenting is competitive

BUT, parenting is central to God's created order and his purposes and plans for mankind.

So, on Sunday 9th June Tim Barton spoke on parenting as part of our In it Together series. Our culture gives unhelpful messages about parenting, so we talked about a Christian worldview. And we explored how parenthood is about co-creation with God and is central to his plans and purposes for humankind.

When you've got the artificial thing you don't even know you're missing the real thing.

On Sunday 2nd June we returned to our In it Together series and Dave Hadley explored with us the vital role of real, committed relationships in our church community. In a world where artificial connections often replace genuine ones, we discussed how our faith and reliance on God help us build and sustain meaningful bonds. When we fix our eyes on Jesus we can be changed from the inside out. Together we are part of something wonderful - the kingdom of God. So let’s embrace our counter-cultural identity, striving to love and support one another as Christ
intended.

On Sunday 26th May we had a break from our In it Together series and we looked at God working in our everyday lives, wherever we are. We watched a short video, had a look at the Bible and Vanessa interviewed Eric.

On Sunday 19th May Tim Murray brought the fourth message in our In it Together series and spoke on singleness. A waiting room? Second best? Singleness is not often spoken about in church, despite the stats on how many single people can be in a church service on any given Sunday.

How we can help each other live in a way that recognises the gift of being individuals whilst remaining as one in Christ? On Sunday 5th May we continued our new series, In it Together. Tim Barton spoke on individuality, he highlighted the differences between our culture of individualism and the gift of individuality the Gospel calls us to.
