In the 19th Century, a northwest passage through modern day Nunavut in Canada to more easily access eastern Asia was of the utmost importance to the British navy. One such voyage, led by Sir John Franklin, was equipped with the latest technology and an experienced and able crew, and yet the two ships and all the sailors upon them vanished and were never heard from again!
