The hottest weather begins Wednesday and the heatwave could last into the weekend. The tropics are heating up as well as a system in the Southwest Gulf of Mexico. It has been designated Potential Tropical Cyclone 1. Heavy rain is likely along the Texas and Louisiana coasts. Another system could spin up east of Florida and head westward
