Hot Bread with ‘Lil Jase
Hot bread is an invitation for Joy Listeners to join me on a two hour stroll through the bakery district of our memories.
I’ve always found, coming from the outback, and the western district of Victoria, that certain scents, that dance on the wind, trigger memories. One of those scents is the aroma of lemon Scented Gum trees at dawn. I’ll be out walking at 5am, and suddenly the scent is there. I never know where the scent is coming from, but the aroma propels me automatically to the dry creek beds of the Barkindji and Willyakali districts. However, one of the most familiar scents, that makes me stop and focus, is the aroma of fresh Hot Bread, just taken out of the ovens. They catch me and they make me stop and take it all in. The sound of familiar Music, dancing on the air, does exactly the same thing.
I want to share those experiences with the Joy Listeners, taking them by the hand and just have a slow morning of memories, AND, there’s an opportunity for the Joy Listeners to take us on part of their musical memory stroll too.
The “Epic Half Hour Of Hot Bread Requests” where you can take us all by the hand and take us on a memory stroll. (I have a few lined up already and they are already taking my breath away – Oh was that a hint of one of the songs coming up in the next few weeks? Possibly)
WHAT STYLE OF MUSIC WILL WE FIND IN THE BREAD BASKET?
Essentially it will be a slower, to medium, style of music, because it is an early Sunday morning show. Many of the songs being played will be acoustic versions, to keep with the settled style of the morning, but then I may throw in a few bangers, into the bread basket, just to prick your ears up again. Every now and then I am also going to drop an acoustic cover, into the bread basket. But who can say what style of music we will hear from our guest listener requests?
But here’s the kicker – leading into the Epic Half Hour Of Hot Bread Requests, There will be an epic theatrical styled song, common to your memory but in a very upbeat style.
