    “I Am A Burden” Syndrome

    “I Am A Burden” Syndrome

Toxic family systems create lingering feelings of inadequacy and insecurity in its survivors that are stubborn to eliminate.

Whether initiated or enabled by parental figures or from the consistent negative influence of other family members the struggle of feeling inadequate and “in the way” is real.

In this episode, let's dive deep into this topic:

✅ Feeling like a burden means we frequently feel afraid that we are inconveniencing, annoying, or frustrating other people.
✅ As a child we likely learned to apologize even when we had done nothing wrong.
✅ What causes this feeling of being a burden?
✅ How early does “I am burden” syndrome develop?
✅ “I am a burden syndrome” and shame
✅ As we try and heal, negative beliefs about ourselves cling tightly, because our value has been based solely on making other people happy, all the while being accused of being the burden our family had to sacrifice for.
✅ How To’s and Writing Exercises
