Episode 3: Synamin Vixen, Trained Professional Dancer, Sex/Sensuality Educator, Your Friendly Neighborhood Black Dominatrix Obscene Talent

    • Performing Arts

In our third episode, we talk with Synamin Vixen, a professionally trained dancer who taught dance for many years before stepping onto the burlesque stage. We learn about how Synamin carved out a space for herself in the burlesque scene in New Orleans and very soon after began producing her own shows and teaching burlesque, as well as how she and her partner, John collaborate as artists and as sex/fetish workers. In addition to her life onstage, Synamin walks us through how she has come to embrace her calling as a sex educator and how she is using her platform to create safe spaces, particularly for Black people, to explore BDSM, sensuality, and fetish. We also discuss how she got into making her own herbal tinctures for healing, what the heck a chakra is, what "phrasing" really means, and why Netflix's "Bonding" is a way healthier & more accurate representation of kink culture than "50 Shades of Gray."

This episode was recorded on July 24, 2020 & is being released August 7, 2020.
