Primer on the Covenants

In response to one proverb, Pastor Rhode give a complete history of Christianity, beginning from its origin in The Garden of Eden. This is a "must listen" for everyone.

Ezekiel continues to deliver a message from God to the people of Israel. In chapter 18, he specifically addresses their belief that they are suffering because of the sins of their ancestors. God refutes this notion, declaring that each individual is accountable for their own actions. This chapter outlines principles of justice and righteousness, emphasizing that those who turn from wickedness and pursue righteousness will live, while those who turn from righteousness to wickedness will die. The people are called to repentance and to turn away from their sins and seeking righteousness, so that they may live and not face the consequences of their transgressions. This chapter underscores the importance of personal accountability, repentance, and redemption by turning to God seeking righteousness.

In this session from Genesis 10, Pastor Rhode emphasizes how understanding Noah's family tree frames the biblical covenants accurately. He highlights Ham's apostasy and the curse on his son Canaan and how it impacts the covenants. Despite corruption from Ham's line, Christianity maintains continuity by God choosing Abraham to receive the promise of the land of Canaan. This teaching helps in understanding the transitions from Noah to Abraham; Abraham to Moses and the Old Covenant; and Moses to the New Covenant in Christ.
