Stephan tells us his story about how his horizons expanded and he began to question the secular teachings of SoCal. In part one, we see how he ends up in some new age Eastern religions, going to a Hindu monastery, and finally ending up exploring different schools of Buddism. None of these ended up giving him what he was seeking though.
