1 - Matthew 14:1-12: In Matthew 14 we encounter the unexpected when John the Baptist is cruelly beheaded. What are we to make of this? Join us this Pentecost Sunday to explore how God calls us to live in a world where standing with and for Jesus does not always end as we expect. Together we’ll embrace the Holy Spirit who alone enables us to live as God's Kingdom people, no matter what.

5 - Matthew 13:44-58: This week we are studying Matthew 13:44-58 and the joy of the kingdom of God. Jesus talks about the kingdom in a way that many of us long for—great joy, delight, and happy sacrifice. Within this text lies purpose, fulfillment, redemption, and a stern warning too. Join us this Sunday at 9 or 11am, as we talk about the treasure of the kingdom of God, and bring a friend!

Parables of Jesus - Matthew 13:1-23: In the coming weeks, people will flock to local garden centers to purchase mulch and manure! Why? Unless we focus on working on the heavy clay based soil in Calgary, nothing much will have a chance to grow in our flower beds and vegetable gardens as spring sets in. In Matthew 13, Jesus speaks of the human heart in need of the same attention. In the four soils that are described in the parable of the Sower, we can learn so much about the human heart. Our own heart is reflected in one of the four soils presented and for some of us we might not like the current condition of the soil of our heart. Take heart! Join us Sunday as we talk about the Kingdom of God that Jesus came to share and how we can be fruitful participants in it!

Parables of Jesus - Matthew 13:24-43: This Sunday we are looking into the problem and promise of waiting. None of us likes to wait, yet Jesus declares that the Kingdom of God is marked by patient waiting and radical transformation. The promise of God’s kingdom is that it is deeper, fuller and more mysterious than we ever thought possible. Join us this Sunday as we study Matthew 13:24-43 at 9 and 11am. Bring a friend!

Daniel - Daniel 6: According to TIME magazine 2024 is “The Ultimate Election Year”, as at least 64 nations are slated to go to the polls representing nearly 50% of the population of the planet! This should get us thinking about the role of Christian witness in society at large. We, like Daniel, live as “foreigners and exiles” in our society, so how do we play a role in bringing the kingdom of God on earth? The story of Daniel 6 reminds the Church that the way we serve and suffer is meant to reveal God's salvation.
