Let's Talk‪!‬ Lauren Flower

In this episode, I speak with my dear friend and principal dancer of Boston Ballet, Derek Dunn. We dive into the importance of allyship, visibility, curriculum, and inclusivity. Both being of the LGBTQ+ community, it is deeply recognized and understood that there has been an immense lack of representation in the ballet industry for queer women dancers, nonbinary dancers, and trans dancers. Derek is a person in my life who continues to be an ally; a person who expresses genuine authenticity; and a person who strives for advocacy in helping push for the platform we all need to have our voices heard.

Happy Inauguration Day! A day in our history we will forever remember. Witnessing Kamala Harris, the first woman sworn in as Vice President. In the first episode of Let's Talk!, Lauren continues the conversation around biphobia and the societal assumptions that are commonly put on bisexuality.  We talk about the ways in which fluidity is beautiful in how we embrace who we are and expands the communication around sense of self and community. With Lauren's first episode of this series, she is excited to bring more topics to the forefront and to help us feel a sense of togetherness during a time of uncertainties.
