    Alive to Make Disciples

    Alive to Make Disciples

Teaching from the last words of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, Pastor Carl taught today the central doctrine of Jesus being God, and His command to us to make disciples. From the beginning of church history, we see that it was recognized that Jesus is God. When He returned after His resurrection He told that He had all authority and He chose to use it to bring more people into the Kingdom of God.

The world wars against the hope we have in Jesus. It desperately wants us to buy into the notion that we are all doomed. But we have a hope that only comes through faith in God. The disciples walked with Jesus for three years. They knew He was a good teacher. They knew that He had the words of life. But they did not worship until after the resurrection.

Then, they gave their lives, traveling the world spreading the Good News to whoever would listen. Many even gave their lives for this cause.

We are not under the threat of persecution for our witness, but we are no less harassed by the enemy in an effort to stop our efforts to spread the Kingdom in our sphere of influence.

As a members of Revival Life Church, we are alive in south Florida to make disciples by calling people to connect, serve, and worship God.

As you meditate on this message this week, think about the authority you operate in when you share the message of Jesus.

Who in your life do you need to pray for? Set a time each day to pray for the people in your life that are away from God.

Make a plan to let the people in your life know that you are a follower of Jesus and you follow His voice.

    We Gather to Worship

    We Gather to Worship

This Sunday, we continued our Supernatural Connection message series by talking about our call to worship God.

Wen we sing our worship to God we connect with each other and the collective faith in the room. We join with all of heaven in declaring that our God is the God of heaven and earth. The world may have troubles chasing after its gods, be we worship the Lord God almighty.

But we worship Him more than just in song.

When we take part in the preached word we encounter God the Spirit as He moves in the room. When we lean in and connect with the message we are worshiping God by honoring His word.

And when we share Holy Communion, we worship God by sitting at His table.

This week as you meditate on this message, make time to worship God in all the ways He has given us.

    Worship

    Worship

This Sunday Pastor Carl talked about why we worship. We sing because we know who to thank. It is the revelation the Jesus is Lord that brings salvation and connects us to the creator of the universe. We have a God who is active in our lives and is worthy of praise. We sing as a way of connecting with God and recognizing that He is good.

We sing to live in the truth when all the signs point to a lie. The truth is that God is good and He has good plans for our lives. When the whole world looks dark we praise so we can inhabit the last where Jesus is king and our hope returns. When we are hopeless, having no plan and no power to change our circumstances, worshiping God connects us to the God who has a plan and all the power to see it come to pass.

We sing to make the power of the future present in our lives. Through worship we inhabit the better future that God has for us.

While you live your life this week think about the following:

How can you chose to spend more time worshiping God this week? Maybe while doing household chores or commuting?

When you get down, choose to worship instead of meditating on what might go wrong.

Take a look at the people in your life. Do they worship God or are they living without a higher purpose? Pray that you would have an opportunity to share with our reason to be thankful.

    The Pattern of God’s Presence

    The Pattern of God’s Presence

This Pentecost Sunday Pastor Carl taught on The Pattern of God’s Presence. Throughout history, God has revealed Himself to people in a way that brings worship. True worship is the difference between soulish and spiritual Christianity. Soulish Christianity is popular, makes people feel good, but lacks the ability to bring transformation. Jesus said worship much be in Spirit and truth.

God instructed Moses to build a tent of meeting in response to his desire to worship God. He built the tent, sanctified it, and the glory of God settled in the tent. This is the pattern that is repeated throughout the Bible. First people desire to serve God. They build a place for God in the world. They make a sacrifice. Then God’s presence becomes a witness to the world.

This is what happened when Solomon built the temple. And it’s what happened on the day of Pentecost. But in this new covenant we the church are the temple of God. God responds to our desire to serve Him and our efforts to build a place for Him. We sacrifice our lives to be with Him and He fills us with His presence in a way that the world can see.

At the end of service we made time for God to move and we had  a supernatural time connecting with God.

As you meditate on this message this week consider the following:

Are there areas of your life God is wanting you to surrender?

Have you gotten caught up in “project me” and forgotten that Jesus is the center of life for Christians? Spend disciplined time focusing on God and His desire for the world.

Allow Holy Spirit to move through you by sharing the hope you have in Jesus with someone away from God this week.

    Life as Worship

    Life as Worship

This Sunday, Mother’s Day, Pastor Carl continued the Supernatural Connection message series. Teaching from Romans 12 Pastor Carl taught about the distractions we face as believers. As we grow in Christ we can fall back into adding to the grace of God with knowledge and law. There were similar conflicts happening in the time of Paul happening in the Church in Rome so Paul wrote a letter to validate the believers and challenge them at the same time.

God did expect the believers to live holy lives but He expected that holiness to come from a hope fill life of devotion. Paul changed the paradigm of being a believer to focusing our life as an act of worship. We aren’t earning God’s love, nor are we ignoring His call to change.

But when all of life is worship, we bring the one we worship with us wherever we go. This creates opportunities for the world around us to encounter the living God as we bear fruit.

As you meditate on this message this week:

Take time in your day to meditate on God. Ask Him to show you how He is experiencing the world around you.

Reach out to someone and invite them into a life of worship.

Spend time alone with God. Ask Him if there are areas of your life that He wants dedicated to Him.
